Absolutely terrible. I had placed an order on 2 February 2026 for activation on 1 March 2026 and here I sit on 3 March 2026 with no internet. Even a request to cancel the order so that I may sign up with a provider who is actually willing to provide the requested service is simply ignored. Not only was my cancellation request ignored, I have been informed that the service is now active. Maybe that's the secret with this company.

Worst company ever, I would not recommend them to anyone not even the worst enemy I might have, If it was a choice of Choose web squad and live or choose anyone else and perish, I guess I am going to perish. They have gotten me into some very hot water that I know need to climb my way out.

I left Butylseal in April 2023 (yes, 2023, not 2024 like they keep claiming). More than 18 months later these clowns happily accepted a debit order mandate signed by someone else, sent from my old work email, and started hammering my ex-employer’s bank account for MY personal fibre line. They emailed my invoices and private details to people I no longer work with, never once phoned or WhatsApp’d me to check if it was legit. POPIA? Clearly never heard of it. Cancelling was another circus: “invoice is due” + “settlement is required” – are you wanting one payment or two? Took ages and threats to get a straight answer. Absolute ***boys. If you value your privacy and your money, run a mile. I’m still gobsmacked this company is allowed to operate.

I would just like to take this opportunity to commend Web Squad and more specifically a technician who has been going out of his way to assist me with every query that I have and an ongoing issue that I have been experiencing. Velo my man thank you so much for all your assistance, even going out of your way to private message me and continue to check in and give me feedback on every change that was being made and tested. Not only do you not have to go through to a robot system to speak to an actual human being but when you call them it rings twice and a person picks up and it doesn't take long to sort out your issue. We will be moving premise soon and already I was asked if they can try and push the new fibre provider to speed up my installation. Thank you guys so much for all your support past and future, you guys are doing an amazing job.

After a week of struggling due to my own idiocy, Callum came to my rescue! Twenty minutes after the call started, I'm back online. Thank you Websquad!

New subscribers to Web Squad be very careful when signing on. They tell you it is month to month, but this is not true. You have to stay with them for 6 months before you may cancel your contract. I now have a problem with the openserve fibre, this is not Web Squad problem, and would like to go for wireless, but because of the 6 months minimum contract, I have to pay for another 4 months and nobody can clear the fault on the openserve fibre. This is so annoying!

Late yesterday, severe lightning hit my router and other electric circuits, leaving me completely disconnected from the internet. During the evening, I tried connecting a router which I had stacked away, with absolutely no joy. I contacted Web Squad today, hoping for any solution to get me connected again. I had the incredible luck to speak to Chanelle (not sure of the spelling of her name), who first of all, made me feel at complete ease. She then took ownership of my problem, organised a brand new router for me, and set it up for me with my chosen network name and password, gave me a call within about twenty minutes after I gave her all the information, letting me know that my new router was ready, set up, and just needed to be collected so that I could literally just 'plug and play' - WOW !!!! (the suggestion was also made that perhaps it could be delivered to me as well, if there was anyone going in that direction sooner than me managing to get to the Randburg (very accessible) office. I was blown away completely, not remembering whether I had ever before in my life experienced such incredibly quick, accurate and friendly service. When I picked up my new router, I was made to feel at home immediately, and drinking a very welcome cold glass of water, I secretly wished that I could work there too. On the technical side, Brody also kept in contact with me, and made sure that all settings with the rest were in order by the time I got home. I became a Web Squad client on recommendation of a difficult client, who is extremely happy with their service too, and I will continue to be their client, and recommend to anyone else who can no longer bear the slack inefficiency of a couple of the 'big boys' out there. Thank you in sincerest gratitude Chanelle and Brody. Adriana Botha.

Unfortunately, I have to be reviewing my 5 bumpy years of service with Web Squad and searching for a new FTTH ISP. Due to a recent increase in monthly costs, that I did not receive a email for, I am stuck being both unemployed and out of budget. Checking the price of the line via Vumatel on the 1st and 2nd of August revealed no increase, only after I informed Carl Fayolle, was the pricing "updated accordingly". I had budgeted for WebSquad's R929 per a month until the year 2024. Although the current pricing is anything from R250 more than the competition, I was happy with the overall line and convenience provided. Even though I had to pay the installation fee out of pocket due to a miscommunication, the installation resulted in wall damages and the initial fibre box being buried ( to this day ) in an unknown spot. I made contact via email and spoke to Carl Fayolle regarding assistance and/or a way to maintain the current cost for 5 months longer. Unfortunately he suggested a downgrade to half the speed at R180 less, which does not help or justify staying with Web Squad, especially with competition offering the same for less and often with free VOIP services. Web Squad 50mb Up/Down for R789, when other ISP offer 50mb Up/Down at an average of R649. Doing a little Googling also reveals a November 2022 Black Friday offer for almost half the price ( R699 for 100mb up/down ),3 months free and "month to month valid for life". Absolutely no empathy or alternative solution has been offered. A free for 6 months VOIP solution was offered ( which is R59/month, R19 more than the increase ), but only over and above the R969 /month now required. This I cannot understand, as my request to maintain the price saves them R19 per month. It has even reached the point where they provide no communication and my connection that states "Active" on the portal is offline in reality. I have received no response and requested a call to finalize this matter and make payment. Carl Fayolle even referred to my statement of finalizing the matter before making payment as a "threat". For someone that has not missed a payment or withheld a payment for the last 5 years, even with line speed changes and billing mistakes, such a comment/joke is in bad taste. If I receive a phone call and restoration of my connectivity, I WILL IMMEDIATELY MAKE PAYMENT and CHANGE MY RATING. Until then, let this review serve as an example and warning for anyone else considering WebSquad.
