My nephew and I took in our Axis A60 MTB's in for their first service after buying the bikes. They were very eager to take the bikes in and the process went smoothly. We were told they would call once the bikes are ready. We opened two separate job cards. They called my nephew but did not call me and could not give him a price. I phoned in a few days later to ask and was told the bikes were ready. I had to query the cost of the service which they were uncertain on the price. We went to collect the bikes the next day. When they brought the bikes down, my bike had deep scratches on the Lock-on grip rings, the brake fluid reservoirs and the brake handles. The lock-out switch cable housing was severely damaged, looked as if it had been cut or something. The handlebar cap on the one side was also damaged. The salesman also damaged my hard earned JUMA bell from the first JUMA 54km as he brought the bike down. This happened right in front of me. When we told them the bike had been damaged, the became very aggressive, claiming the damage was from a fall. The owner accused me of lying and would not even look at a photograph of the bike before the service which showed no damages. I waited for an hour, eventually, after a very frustrating wait, they replaced the rings on the lock-on grips, gave me a new bell, though refused to sort out anything further. I am also not happy with the service as the front brake disc is now touching the brake pad which it never did before. I am closely in tune with the condition of my bike is I regularly clean my bike by hand and inspecting every component. I have also not had a fall so bad, that such damage would have occured. I am a fairly accomplished rider having been in cycling since 2007 both on road bikes and mtbs.
Terrible service and even worse when it comes to resolving problems. Will not be going back to that store for new bikes, spares, servicing or apparel.
