Stay far far away!
The 3 year guarantee they give you is not worth the paper that it is printed on….. once you have paid for their original work don’t expect them to come back. I had cracks and damp return and have been requesting since February for them to return and fix as per the guarantee. They kept on promising to come through and complete. Then in May 2024…. 4 months later they send another contractor to assist. This is how my house has been left. Stay far far away… empty promises. The photos “indicate” await paint order and ready then we will paint.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
The product and service of this "company" is absolutely disgusting. Recently bought a house with an existing 10year waterproof warranty in place. Started having leaks and took WEEKS to get hold of the person to rectify. Eventually they came and did a shocking job of fixing it and then did a runner once I tried to get hold of him again when the leaks started AGAIN. After calling the Headoffice in Ballito over 10 times, I eventually got hold of the owner of Welcote who was so aloof and sarcastic and offered to "pray on it" as he took zero responsibility and offered no assistance to rectify. I then had to get an outside company at the costs of thousands to come and fix their rubbish work. Stay away from these people, you will be wasting your money on a terrible product.

WILCOTE - NO AFTER SALES SERVICE
Worst Company to do Damp proofing. They came to me to do an assessment on entire house. They quoted me, which I paid, while they where work, other damp was found, I was then told that they did not quote for that (why I have no idea, he was told to check the entire house) I paid for that as well (Extra) Now all the damp has come back, and when called back, he now found another spot that apparently was not quoted for. Still has not come back to fix all the rest of the the damp. NO AFTER SALES SERVICE. Worst is that you have to pay a large part upfront, before commencement of work. Now they don't want to repair there mess.

Excellent Service Wilcote Franchising
In February I wrote about the problems I had with Wilcote Ballito. Due to some issues the owner Ryan only received my E Mails in March. Ryan really impressed me with his willingness to go the extra mile and has delivered excellent service. I highly recommend both Ryan and Wilcote Ballito for putting the customer first

Bad Service - Wilcote Ballito
In March 2020 I approached Wilcote for a quote on painting my roof. After accepting their quote, it took about 2 weeks for them to commence the job. They job subsequently took about 3 weeks to complete the job and was only finished in about June after the lifting of Covid restrictions. The workers were unprofessional and I complained about blotches in roof. In about August they repainted the roof and cleaned the overspray off my 2 solar panels. The roof still had blotches, but I was sick and tired of having them wasting my time on attempting to repair their bad workmanship. To have paid over R20 000 for an amateur job was really the last straw or so I thought. At the time of doing my roof I warned the foreman that carport awning could not take the weight of his workers. In December some kids asked me to get a ball off the carport roof. This when I noticed that Wilcote staff had damaged my awning and gutter. I phoned Ryan from Wilcote on 3 occasions, the last time being early January .I subsequently sent 2 x E Mails which were ignored, except for one E Mail saying they would attend to my query. ( computer generated E Mail) It is has now cost me R3500-00 to repair the awning and I still have a blotchy roof. I will never use or recommend this firm again.

Wilcote Midlands (recommended - professional, knowledgeable, good value)
Wilcote-Midlands installed a new lintel above my garage door and repaired my sagging garage roof. The staff displayed a professional and courteous attitude, they were knowledgable about and experienced with the tasks-at-hand, and the job was completed on-time and on-budget.

Wilcote Johannesburg North shoddi work
Wilcote installed a new roof on my garage for 26k and repaired the roof in other places like the sunroom for another 13k in April 2018. The guarantee was for 10 years. In August 2019 (last year) there were severe leaks in the garage, and they came to fix it. It rained again and there were more leaks in the garage and more leaks in the sun room. They came out several times and eventually just stop answering my whatsapps. I now have contracted another roofing specialist (City Painters-highly recommended) who has told me that the outlet from the gutters to the down pipes are not big enough and that is the reason for the leaks particularly during heavy rains. He is now fixing the Wilcote incompetence I have paid dearly for. Please never use Wilcote, they were recommended to me by a friend, who has also had to subsequently pay another contractor to fix her roof. I had previously posted this on Hellopeter and was reprimanded severely by Mark Penhalls' wife and pressurised to remove my post. This post will stay.
