They say you can list an IOD through the website cfcallcentre@labour.gov.za but its been 4 months and i still didn't recive a claim number. Their turn around time is 2 weeks to a month. I have an escalation number as well but no claim number is impossinle to source through their call centre. I made around 8 calls during this time. No senior ever called back as was promised. What a joke. I'm about to get black listed for non payment to service providers. Waste of tax payers money

This was the worst experience I have experienced. No communication and no reply on emails. These guys don't have any customer experience at all.I have send numerous emails to Sakuthini Motsobole Sakuthini.Mtsobole@labour.gov.za and the answers that this guy gives was just pathetic. No sympathy, no communication. That is the type of service that we receive from our public servants.Unacceptable.Service rates out of ten,non existent.

I have been following up on a benefit for my son, whose father passed away two months ago. Despite the fact that my child is still studying, the payments have stopped. The call centre insists that I must prove I am alive, yet after numerous calls the system remains non-functional. The representative in Durban has been blunt and unhelpful, and this marks the third month of reaching out with no resolution. Why should we continue paying into Workman’s Compensation when they are clearly unequipped to assist? We pay our taxes, yet government departments seem to become increasingly ineffective.

I can tell you books about the unfriendly pathetic service one gets from COIDA. Its mandatory to register your workers and the tenders requires you to have a 99 number, but the service is the most pathetic i got from a government institution. I deal with the unfortunately on a daily basis and unless you go to their offices and throw you toys NOTHING GETS DONE!. I have my first encounter when i registered a customer in 2023 but according to coida we need to pay for workmans for years 2021/2022 lol THE BUSINESS WAS NOT EVEN OPEN YET!! Long story short, customer agreed to pay the outstanding fees of 42k?? Recently i got 2 businesses 1 is a change of nature and one is a new registration, both i have been struggling to get done since August 2024 and every time i must hear phone back in 5 to 7 days or phone back in 21 days. We are entering the new year and still it's not done?? Is there a not a class summons we can throw at coida or something? not someone who we can complain to who can fix this service? But i guess it's like that for most government institutions pathetic service!

Hi, 25 years ago to be exact I had an injury on duty and all operations or surgery was done through the fund. As years went on I battled and at a stage had to go for more surgeries. So somehow my paperwork could not be found over the years and had to resort to my medical scheme. Each Dr. that assisted me could not find or re open my case with the fund. This year I managed to get hold of the fund and the excuse given was that my file was left in an old system and never migrated to their new systems and that the case was closed. I tried to email the person who assisted me numerous times and asked how do I claim for my disability but did not get any assisstance. In 2019 my ankle had to be fused and daily i am still battling. I approached many lawyers for assistance and finally I had to resort to the Democratic Alliance who contacted Mrs. Farzana Fakir (Director of the Fund). I was emailed by a Jacob who basically told me on email that my personal costs is not their problem. They requested paperwork from me and demanded a final report before any claim can be submitted. No Dr wants to either assist and the Dr. Who operated on me in 2019 is refusing to assist me as I still owe money towards him. The fund still has not given any assistance to resolve my claim. This is 25 years , who will wait that long.
