Friends please avoid this place. The food is good, but the management and staff are crooks, they claim we had more than we ordered. Would not recommend this place at all, some other reviews, Elsa Blom – 3 starFood Not bad but we ordered take aways and to home. Charged us for spring rolls but did not pack them. When I phoned they promised to check and phone back which never happened. Was disappointed in that kind of customer service. Pierino Vatta – 1 starGone backwards. Won't see my business again. Food not great, service non existant Monique Nothnagel – 1 starWent there tonight for my birthday, worst sushi ever, the sushi was rotten and it smelled so bad won't recommended this place to anyone Address The Grove Shopping Centre, Cnr Simon Vermooten Rd & Lynnwood Rd 0184 Pretoria, South Africa Located In The Grove Mall Phone **********

Found two bugs in my sushi, saw that the chicken in my sushi was raw and sushi and it weird. Not impressed.

The chow mein at Yamazaki is atrocious. The chicken does not even resemble chicken, noodles are undercooked, and there is no flavour. The beef is less gross but disgusting. I had asked if they knew how gross their chow is, and they said that's how they make it. They are aware that they sell garbage to actual humans.

I was there on Saturday for my birthday. I chose that restuarant, because of the quality food & service. We've never had a bad experience , the waiters are always friendly & go out of their way to make sure we are happy customers!!

P.S. Thank you for the birthday icecream guys!!

I have been a regular patron of this restaurant, but after the service that I have received tonight and the rudeness of management I will not eat there again.

This is truly a pity seeing as I truly enjoyed the food and the service use to be excellent.

The major selling point of Yamazaki is their bottomless sushi buffet for R148. This has always been my favourite seeing as I can eat a lot and above the sushi you are allowed to order starters and specific side dishes as well.

Tonight I was informed for the first time that there are certain limits that have been place on the number of dishes that you are allowed to order. This is in direct contradiction with what is stated in the menu seeing as the words “all” and “bottomless” are used.

After ordering what I have ordered since I have started eating at Yamazaki (when they opened under prior management) I was informed that I cannot get what I ordered. I took this up with management and she just stated that those are the rules (these rules have never applied in the past and I eat more than twice a month at Yamazaki).

Tonight the wait staff was also incredibly incompetent. We (2 guest) were the only clients in the restaurant and finding a waitress (there were 3 of them) to serve you was a near impossible task. They would either be sitting outside chatting or they all would disappear into the kitchen only to reappear 10 minutes later.

I will make a point of informing all my friends that also frequent Yamazaki to take their business elsewhere.

To anyone that is reading this review there is a great sushi place at the Watermeyer shopping centre not far from Yamazaki and for the same price you actually get bottomless sushi. The restaurant’s name is Tataki.

Tonight, 12 January 2016, we ordered take-away sushi from Yamazaki Restaurant in Brooklyn. This included the salmon platter and red platter, as well as an order of vegetable spring rolls. Firstly, the spring rolls were very disappointing, fried pieces of dough with little filling. We were charged R36 for these and the thickness wasn't even as big as a white board marker. It was like eating a hard koek sister with no taste.

When we then uncovered the plastic from the sushi, the ginger was a gray/pink and the salmon was slimy feeling and tasted un-fresh. The decorative cucumber laid on the plate also had the texture of cucumber that had been left far too long in a bar fridge.

The overall presentation and quality of the sushi was of such a poor standard that we decided to drive back to the restaurant and return the plate of uneaten sushi. The Asian woman managing the establishment argued with us that the food was fine and that the gray ginger was the same they had been using for the last four years. Yet, we've ordered sushi from them at least twice a month over the last year and never have had ginger that looked like this.

The woman decided to phone her manager and spoke in an

Me and my friends visit Yamazaki quite frequently and always enjoy the sushi and welcoming attitude of the waiters and management. But, however, on the 3de of October 2015 we received the worst service ever. The waiter wasn't friendly, he didn't even ask us if we we're having the buffet or something else. He didn't ask us if we wanted something else to drink or eat, we had to call him from the other side of the restaurant where he and the rest of the waiters were watching tv. They didn't care about their tables and we could have easily just walked away without paying the bill and he would not have noticed that we were gone. I love Yamazaki and will continue going there for meals regardless of this one useless waiter. It's still a nice sushi place but the staff needs to be trained better and must be checked up on.
