I am so appalled and so disgusted at the shocking treatment that I have received from Neil Bowler at Absolute Storage. I happened to communicate that I will be paying a bit late, actually a little more than 12 hours late for the month of July 2022. I was not even given a full explanation for the R100 late penalty fee, wait here it comes, a R100 for a little more than 12 hours, WOW!, what a ridiculous penalty fee, and to top it all it wasn't even applied to my account in July, but suddenly it appears in an email now in September 2022, demanding immediate payment otherwise I am banned from my storage unit, yet I pay my account diligently every month, can you believe it. Then to add insult to injury Neil Bowler threatens me!, WOW!, I should go to the news papers and report them and him It is not the first time he has threatened me and insulted me!, I have a self storage unit at Absolute Storage Bedfordview. I have been a customer since 2019. I AM AN APPALLED AND DISGUSTED CUSTOMER!

We had storage unit/s at Absolute Storage for years and during the course of 2016 our 1 x unit was totally ransacked and large appliances as well as random items like leather couch cushions, microwave, metal braai, electronic scanner, printer etc. was stolen. Our 2nd unit which was in a different location on the site was so badly insulated that we had major water damage, damp, dust/sand like you can't believe as this facility is next to a Build-It. When confronting Neil our case and damages were totally ignored and brushed aside. Very conveniently for Absolute Storage, the camera above our broken-in unit did not pick up the footage of what was happening right underneath the camera. They eventually had a legal person respond and refer us to their T&Cs. This whole experience wreaked of an inside job and lack of management and even Neil himself said that ours was not the only incident and that they hadfired the security guard who they believed was in on the "break-ins" during a period in 2015/2016. What a disgrace and pardon the pun, Absolute BS@!#$t - that they couldn't even remotely compensate us for the losses of +-R160,000. Don't store here unless you have solid household insurance and don't value your goods as it will be destroyed or stolen.

Storage unit for 3 years. Own Lock own keys. August my refrigerator was stolen from my unit. Neil avoided showing me the footage, saying there was none. He claimed to have informed me of my unlocked unit. I requested the locks be fixed. I then received an increase letter. I informed Jackie of the theft, out of good faith I did not have to pay increase. Still my lock was not changed. Last week I arrived my code was blocked and not allowed access into premises as I had not paid the increase. Manager then let me in and I found an additional lock added to the door without being informed. this time my unit had been completely wiped out. Manager Neil shouted at me they not liable and nobody has been at my unit and there is again no video footage.
Jackie informed me of a meeting 30/11 with the owners to discuss my issue, I followed up and she advised meeting will take place on Friday only 4/12.
The matter has been reported to SAPS. I am not allowed to see footage which will obviously be deleted. I am not allowed onto premises until payment has been made. I will not pay the increase and I want to be reimbursed.
