I’ve really been struggling with Chromagen agents here in South Africa. They have serviced my chromagen solar geyser in November 2018 and it is still faulty. I have to beg them to come back after they received my money as worksmanship is poor and the collector is still leaking. They gave me a 3 month warranty on work which was done in November and geyser is still not heating up. Now they arrive at my premises and ask for more money before they even start. How is that even right? The job was not even done correctly the first time. What is the point of the warranty then if you cannot actually give a warranty. It is a money making racket. I have correspondence between myself and installer as well as voice recordings between myself and Max of all calls to confirm the level of poor service I received. Especially the shouting and bad attitude from both of them - the installer Ettienne. I record all my cellphone calls, all of them especially for situations like this. I advise you that you should be carefull to use these people. All they care about is the money and dont care about customer service or if the product works or not. Pay first then get no service I am going to report them to the solar authorities in RSA for bad worksmanship and poor warranty levels - but the thing is I have no recourse as they are not registered solar installers from my research after this matter. Chromagen was supposed to be leading geyser brand - But this is a super disappointment.

I had installed a 300L solar geyser for my son's room last year (around September i think ) , and had issues from day one where the water was not getting hot at all with Solar. The fortunate thing is i do not have an electric point to provide to this geyser so i can actually see how good this geyer really is. So after experiencing these problems, they managed to sort it out and i was getting hot water.

I now decide to install a 150L for my domestics and for my one kitchen tap where we wash hands. I was told this 150L can service up to 4 people with hot water. It is almost a week since installation and my domestics did not get a taste of hot water, even though there is electricity provided to this geyeser.

Since the weather is now getting cold , my son also tells me he only gets luke warm water in the mornings. So this is evident that Afrilanga geysers are poorly insulated and doesnt allow for the water to stay hot.

My 150L is not serving as a solar geyser at all. I have a Solar Hart that is running off the grid for 3 years and even at 300L capacity, gives me boiling water, with 3 girls using the shower in 2 seperate bathrooms.

I regret trying to save money , when all i did was waste it buying an inferior product.

I previously complained about a company called 4 Seasons Solar, who provided ineffective and very sub-standard service. The Product importer picked up on the story and contacted me.

Afrilanga Solar (The Chromagen Importers/Agents), sent E Tech solar solutions round to do the work. What a fantastic and competent service. Firstly they offered to come around on Easter Monday to solve the service issue, but it wasn't critical. At an arranged time, they came round, did an inspection, spotted a problem in the roof with a roof beam, fixed it all and did the service. It is so nice to deal with competent and committed individuals. Thank you to Etienne from E-Tech for being so committed and efficient. Exceptional service. I can recommend them to anyone.

This is a follow up report on my Report of Nov last year when I had problems with my Solar Geyser and could not get hold of either the Installer or Afrilanga (the supplier) at the time.
Max from Afrilanga did get hold of me shortly thereafter and it appeared that the problem with me not being able to get hold of them was a simple matter of stolen telephone lines at the time.
Afrilanga sorted me out promptly by sending their current installation company to resolve my problem as the original supplier no longer worked with Afrilanga.
My solar geyser has been working well since the repair and would definitely recommend the Solar Geyser system as supplied and supported by Afrilanga.
