Review / Formal Complaint On 5 September, shortly after 07:00, I was involved in an accident with my Mahindra TUV 300. At the accident scene, I removed the two fog‑light outer covers because they were loose due to bumper damage. These covers were not damaged. I then drove the vehicle home with no mechanical issues whatsoever. After 09:00, my fiancé and I went to the police station to report the accident. We then took the car to two panel beaters in Vanderbijlpark, who assessed the visible damage without stripping the vehicle. Both panel beaters confirmed: • The passenger‑side front light needed to be replaced due to a cracked mounting point. • The front passenger light had shifted backward, causing a small dent in the side panel. • Both fog‑light brackets were broken and required replacement. • The outer fog‑light covers were intact and reusable. • The grill had a broken clip, and they advised removing it so it wouldn’t fall off while driving. It was placed in my boot. • The condenser was damaged, but the engine was not affected, and the airbags did not deploy. • The frame where the bumper attaches was bent and required alignment and repair. • The bumper needed to be replaced. My fiancé (a qualified mechanic) and his employer ran diagnostics and confirmed no engine damage at all. They also test‑drove the vehicle, checked for further issues, and confirmed I was lucky the engine had not been harmed. From 5–28 September, I drove the vehicle daily with absolutely no issues. On 24 September, we drove family to OR Tambo after 19:00. The vehicle drove perfectly—no overheating, no loss of power, and no unusual fuel or oil consumption. The only visible issue was the loose lights, but they still worked. Alfa Trio asked me to bring the vehicle in on 22 September, but I advised them I could only bring it on 29 September because I had no other transport. ⭐ Issues After Repairs by Alfa Trio On 12 December, I was notified that my vehicle was ready for collection. However, Alfa Trio informed me that the battery had failed and asked if I wanted to purchase a new one. My father collected the faulty battery, bought a new one, and had Alfa Trio install it. I was told the car had been kept on a charger. If Alfa had informed me earlier that the battery was not holding charge, I could have replaced it immediately. Instead, it now feels as though they may have suspected another problem—possibly the diesel pressure sensor—and hoped I would not notice. Alfa also claimed they had run diagnostics and found no errors, which is alarming because as soon as my father drove the vehicle out, the engine warning light came on, the vehicle had no power, and it cut out next to the road. Alfa was contacted, and they came out, scanned the vehicle, found an error, and drove the car back to their workshop. On 15 December, Alfa claimed the issue was caused by an “air bubble” due to low diesel and insisted the vehicle was fixed. My fiancé found this explanation extremely suspicious, as he has never experienced such a scenario. When my father collected the vehicle again, the same issue happened. I was later told that “someone else” had driven the vehicle and didn’t experience any issues—but somehow the problem occurred twice only when my father drove it. This explanation makes no sense. Alfa then took the vehicle to Mahindra, where Mahindra confirmed: • ❗ The diesel pressure sensor was broken • ❗ The issue was NOT accident‑related Alfa phoned me and asked whether I wanted to take the car and repair it myself, or if they should “try” to claim it through my insurance. They even said they doubted that insurance would pay—meaning they expected me to pay R9,000 out of pocket. This sensor clearly broke while the car was in Alfa Trio’s care, possibly due to repeated jump‑starting, electrical overload, or improper handling. I see no reason why I should pay for damage they caused. ⭐ My Position • My father collected a vehicle that ran perfectly before Alfa Trio worked on it. • Alfa Trio introduced new damage that was not present before. • I have been without my vehicle for over three months. • I have already paid: • R4,500 for accident‑related repairs • R1,450 for a new battery • And now they expect R9,000 for damage they caused This brings the total to R14,950, just to get my car back—most of which is the result of Alfa Trio’s errors, not the accident. ⭐ What I Require I expect Alfa Trio to: • Accept full responsibility for the diesel pressure sensor they damaged. • Repair the vehicle at their own cost, not mine. • Return my vehicle in proper, safe, working condition, as required by my insurer. • Preferably have the repairs completed by Mahindra, at Alfa’s cost, to ensure the work is done correctly. • Provide written proof that the repairs were completed, including warranty documentation for the replaced sensor. My insurer trusted Alfa Trio to repair the accident damage—not to cause new issues, leave me without transport for months. Their conduct is unacceptable, unprofessional, and financially damaging.

Thank you Alex and your Staff, especially Markus for his Professional attitude and the handling of the repairs to the Storm and Hail damages to my vehicle, it is so frustrating when Santam Insurance make un-professional, absolute STUPID and unilateral decisions by not communicating with me, to only repair what they think must be repaired leaving my Vehicle in and absolute shoddy state of repair to save costs, this not only leaves a very negative and frustrating impact on the excellent work Alfa Trio are known for but also on EVERY Santam Policy holder.

Since I was complaining about Alfa Trio (Pty) Ltd service and reported them at the Insurance Company everything have change. The Manager Piet, the Owner Alex and the Engineering foreman Pieter all jump on board to solve the problem. The supplier they received the tailgate from couldn't find an original tailgate and that cause that Alfa Trio couldn't deliver a 100% service. After talking to the Owner Alex and the Manager Piet in person about the poor quality of the tailgate, the owner come up with a solutions to reinforce the tailgate. They open it up and put in a lot of reinforcement steel and welded a very strong plate over it and then in was rubberized. It now even looks much better than the original one that was on the vehicle before the accident. From the Owner Alex, the Manager Piet and the Engineering Manager Pieter, the service is fantastic. To come to a conclusion from my side is that, even thou there was no communication from one person at Alfa Trio that maybe have forgot about the tailgate, and did not communicate with us, their Supplier should also get the blame. As learn from the process, we should have first started by the person in charge or owner when we realize that we were just forgotten about. When we met the Owner in person, he had an immediately solutions and now we are all happy. Today they are aligning the tailgate and are going out of their way to even align the "bak" of the Izuzu that gives a vibrating noise since the accident. They also made corrections to my Kia Rio front bumper that was pulling loose. I can now say if you ever want repairs done on your vehicle Alfa Trio is the correct Panel Beaters to go to, and if you are unsatisfied with anything please go directly to the owner Alex because he is the man that sort things out quickly without hesitation. So from the bad luck, frustration and anger to very, very happy Customers again. Thank you to Alex, Piet and Pieter for your service. From our side we will now promote Alfa Trio again as the place to go.

After an accident the Santam Insurance authorized Alfa Trio Panel Beaters to repair out Izuzu Bakkie. Alfa Trio Panel beaters was ask not to use Chines / Pirate parts and they have insured us that they don't use Chinese / Pirate parts. We got the Vehicle back and first thing the bumper was not original to the make of the vehicle so the paid to us the money that they charge the insurance for us to find the correct bumper. After a month or two we had to load stuff on the bakkie and as normal someone will stand on the tailgate and do the loading. Then the tailgate bent in under one persons weight. My husband went to Alfa Trio Panel Beaters and ask them why didn't they put on an original part. They then said they will replace it when the find one, Santam Insurance was notified about the incident and also send a messages to Alfa Trio that they must replace the part. My husband keep on phoning and ask about the tail gate and every time the promise was made that they will find one and replace the poor quality one they put on. The Insurance send out a second messages to Alfa Trio Panel Beaters on 21 October 2022 and my husband also keep on calling to ask when the tail gate will be replaced but up to date they just ignore us. The tailgate that they put on is now in such state that it is difficult to open and close. Alfa Trio Panel Beaters also worked on my Kia Rio and after 6 months I noticed that the front fender that they replaced was making a big gap and when I went to them they said that's not their problem because when I received my car back I signed that I was satisfied with their work, so I just leave it there and still driving that way, but with the Izuzu it's a different story because they was informed about the poor quality tailgate and they said they will replace it and up to now they have just wipe it underneath the carpet and we cant do anything about it. It's really terrible to get this kind of service after we have support them for many years to do repairs on our private and company vehicles. We will spread the word and will also report the matter again to the Insurance with photos of the tailgate. The old tailgate was on for almost 20 years with no problem at all.

We have been waiting 2 MONTHS for Alfa Trio to repair the vehicle after I was in a car accident. It's absolutely pathetic that we don't have a motor vehicle for 2 months, and everytime I follow up, it's just a different excuse. The latest excuse is that the turbo broke... how does that happen when there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, and now it broke. Absolutely disgusting. Do not use them!!!!!

I wrote a review on them a week ago about my car. This is the worst service I have ever had. The assessor Paul Szemerei never came out to look at the car. All was done with photos that I had to send on whatsapp. How ridiculous is that? You can't make an informed decision on photos. I am not an assessor so I don't even know if I missed something when I took the photos. You can't ask the client to step in as an assessor. I had to deal with a Pumhla Ndlovu only on email. First they say Park panel beaters is not list on their accredited list. So my car has to go to Auto Magic Holdings in Vereeniging. They don't have a truck to come and load my car. Another 2 days goes pass. Finally a truck came to collect it. Then someone with the name Keith called from another company Alfa Trio Panel Beaters. The quote doesn't state that they are fixing the car it is Auto Magic, but they are not Volkswagen approved. Are we running a circus here? The quote also doesn't state that they going to spray-paint the parts which is damaged when they broke the door lock. How sure will I be that I even get Volkswagen parts now I spoke to Hansie at Alfa trio and he forwarded the quote that was supp**** by Iwyze, but the quote is from Auto magic and not Alfa trio
