BEWARE OF BOATS SA (PTY) Ltd After I was promissed twice by Herman that they have stock availible and that they are keeping the 10HP Tohatso shortshaft for me, I made the payment of R30 561 for the motor and couple of other things on 11 August 2025. Now almost 2 months later and I still dont have anything to show for it, not even as much as a email confirming my order, nothing!!! I have to pull everything out of Herman and of course the BS started. Apparently they sold my motor to someone else, and there was supposedly a motor coming in the the next shipment in just two weeks time, which also has come and gone. Ive requested refund numurous times as well with no avail. Their support and admin@boatssa.com email addresses are also useless. They dont even have the descency to reply. Please beware of doing business with these guys!!!!

BEWARE OF BOATS SA (PTY) Ltd I purchased a F5HP PARSUN SHORT SHAFT OUTBOARD for R17,195.00 and paid R315 for a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection), totalling the amount to R18,070. I made this payment on 2024-01-09. Upon delivery, the throttle was protruding through the box and showing damage of being dropped. I immediately informed “Boats SA” of this and even sent photos, I told them that I would let them know if I had any issues. On the first trip, the motor would not idle and kept cutting out. I informed “Boats SA” as soon as I returned. They instructed me to bring the outboard motor to the shop in Strand (Cape Town). Initially, they suggested that, they would rather personally look into the issue, as sending the motor back to “Parsun” would take much longer. First they said it was overheating, but later claimed it had an electrical issue and eventually, I was told they were going to send it back to “Parsun”. 3 weeks later. Due to the lack of communication, I contacted “Parsun SA” to get an update on my motor, only to discover that “Parsun SA” does not supply “Boats SA” with their outboard motors? (FUNNY THAT?) I informed “Boat SA” of this knowledge which was totally ignored and under-handed, I then received a call from “Hendrik” from “Motor King and Marine” and not “Parsun”, as I had been told repeatedly. I was told that “Motor King and Marine” would now be looking at my motor and they would decide if they would fix it or send me a replacement. I cannot believe that “Boat SA” cannot understand that I would like a “NEW” motor and not a fixed motor? I could have bought a second hand motor off gumtree for half the price? I paid in full in JAN and have been sitting with NO MONEY & NO MOTOR which was paid for 3 month ago. I have gone so far as to go into the “Boats SA” shop again to speak to the owner “Robert Krause“ however he was only available over the phone. He refused to listen to reason and / or refund me and has completely ignored my messages requesting a full refund. This is not how you treat your customers, the customer should immediately receive a new replacement motor and as a company the faulty motor should be a discussion between themselves and their importers.

Would never recommend! They are sly and not trustworthy! I bought a set of coils for Parsuns engines. It came wrong. I send them back and wanted refund! Herman the salesman sent a link that I need to fill in and tell them all whats wrong why I need refund. Did all that. Never got my refund. R1755 on 21st of August I made payment! 4 of September they received their coils back. Up to date full of excuses. I even asked for my coils back to destroy them or something because they have the money and the coils! They ****** me basically! Never support them.

My issues are as follow: 1. Frustrating that the catalogue has alot of items on it, but virtually none of the items is available. I think almost half of their items is out of stock. 2. I bought a compressor pump for my inflatable boat. They advised that I needed a > 75l/min pump. So I got an 95l/min pump. It was useless in inflating the pump - I could inflate it with the hand pump 3 times in the time the compressor did it. 3. On second use - the compressor did not work/ was broken. I returned it: It has now been more than 2 months and "they are still processing the return"; I have not received my refund. 4. No card facilities in store; had to scramble around to withdraw R20 000 from an ATM to pay for my boat. In summary: If you are a cash-carrier, and you are in store, and you are buying something that wont/cannot break, you'll be OK. However, don's "shop" on their catalogue, don't bargain on after sale services and prompt processing of defective products, don't go to the store without a bag of cash...

Thank you boatssa. I found their site on gumtree. Phoned Ettienne at their Strand branch. He was very helpful. I ordered over the phone, did the ETF and arranged for the courier. Less than a day later I received my parcel almost 1000km away. 10/10 for great service. Can recommend them to anyone looking for boat parts. Paul
