Based on recent customer reviews, Buco faces widespread criticism across multiple branches for poor customer service, unresolved complaints, and defective products. Customers frequently report unhelpful or rude staff, difficulty obtaining refunds or returns, and a lack of follow-up from management on escalated issues. Product quality concerns include broken roof tiles and mislabelled paint. Checkout inefficiencies and refusal to perform basic services like wood cutting add to frustrations. However, the Parklands and Gansbaai branches stand out positively, with customers praising genuinely helpful, caring, and polite staff.

Based on recent customer reviews, this business delivers a consistently strong customer experience anchored by outstanding agent quality and rapid communication. Customers frequently name individual consultants and praise their friendliness, patience, and professionalism. Recurring praise is given to claims and roadside assistance, though a vocal minority report frustrating delays, rejected claims, and poor transparency around premium increases.

We have been building a new home. We had all the cupboards cut, with all the dimensions, 100% correct, given to Buco Nelspruit, to be cut to spec, to find out that they mixed our order up with someone else's. Buco have been made aware of this too. The inconvenience of 30km of travel up and down to get this mess fixed, over again, with no compensation, is at best annoying. This comes with obvious lack of supervision when the project is handed down to the "carpenter" "cutter" whatever you want to call the person/s who are supposed to cut the wood pieces, to exactly what the client ordered! Guys, all I can say is, get your ducks in a row and do it right the first time please, and supervise your staff.

Hi all Might I say how disappointed and disgusted I am in this company for having a terrible supplier like markley Roofing supplying them with materials. I am a contractor and have experience in construction for 15 years. Anyway I started a project building a double storey building in randburg Ambassador park complex. I purchased roof tiles for R21,000 or round it off to R22,000 last year December 2025. They only had a certain amount of tiles at there Store BUCO so they had to order more from there supplier MARLEY. The tiles took 2 weeks to get delivered to site. My team put the roof tiles. We then realised we were short of tiles as per the clients instruction, buy 790 and will see if we run short you can go and get more. I went to the shop and bought, this time I got it the next day delivered to site. When my team jumped on the roof to put the tiles on the roof tiles just started breaking soon as you walk on the roof. Not all of them broke but many. When I got to site my team had advised me of the situation so I took one roof tile and punched it with my fist and surprisingly It broke. I then went to the store BUCO to purchase 250 more and it came up to R5,000 or R6,000. My client called the manager GAVIN VORSTER. He then asked me for pictures and email. He CC me in the mail. They responded with a site visit only on the 23/01/2026 and when they came they sent a female lady (VELMA MATHEKGANA) that gave an assessment without even jumping on the roof. GAVIN VORSTER advised me that he had a couple of complaints as well relating to this issues regarding these roof tiles that Marley supplys them with. THE EMAIL SENT TO ME HANK AS THE CONTRACTOR WHO MADE THE COMPLAINT : Good day Kindly find attached Lab test results and attached photos. Please check photo 9.1 regarding the installation where it clearly shows that the line is not straight and it is affecting the whole area , hence experiencing breakages. Kind regards Velma Mathekgana Sales Representative How can they make that assumption or decide that when there rep. VELMA MATHEKGANA did not even jump on the roof to see the structure. Honestly this is pathetic service. I expect to get some answers and I feel they should reimburse me for my team lost, my fuel running to shops, and the material and labour I had to put it. I give a 5 year warranty on my work and if something happens and those tiles break I will have to replace them and then should I go to BUCO to let them know about this they will give me issues as they would say it's been long etc. PLEASE ATTEND TO MY COMPLAINT ?

I bought 11 cupboard knobs with *****s at BUCO Sea Point the other day. 9 of the *****s didn't fit the knobs they came with, they were too thick in diameter, hence today I wanted to return them. A lady, who appeared to be the manager, had the worst possible attitude. No apology. She did not want to take them back, as she claimed the packets were now open (of course they were, I had to try if the *****s fit) and therefor she couldn't put them back on the shelves to sell. I asked whether she would seriously try to resell items which she knew were faulty. She rep**** that it wasn't her problem, but the supplier's. It took a lot of convincing from my side and even more bad attitude from hers to finally get a refund. I am not sure if she had ever heard of the Consumer Protection Act. I have learned 3 things: 1) some managers should not be managing anything, especially a store/colleagues/clients. 2) BUCO Sea Point clearly doesn't care about the quality of goods they sell (she wanted to try and resell knowingly faulty items). 3) I will never set foot into any BUCO outlet again.

Dear Buco Customer Care, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent experience at Buco Honeydew, managed by Hans. I purchased a tin of black paint from this store, only to discover upon opening it that the paint was grey despite being clearly labeled black on the tin. I subsequently drove approximately 15 kilometers back to the store to return the product and report the issue. During my visit, I was informed by the store staff that I was not the first customer to experience this problem and that it had already been escalated to management. However, I was assured by Hans that he would personally follow up with the supplier and contact me with feedback. It has now been over a week, and I have received no response or update from him. This lack of communication and accountability is highly disappointing. I believe I am entitled to compensation for my time, petrol costs, and the inconvenience of having to take time off work to resolve an issue that appears to be known but unaddressed. Furthermore, I would recommend that Hans receive customer service training, as his handling of this situation reflects poorly on Buco’s commitment to customer satisfaction. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this matter.I shall provide videos and pictures upon request. Disappointed and annoyed. Sincerely,
