This is the forth time I have purchased veg breyani at the store and found that the food was spoilt. I had the problem again on Tuesday morning and this morning!! All times, I had bought it shortly after opening of the store for consumption straight after. On both days this week I arrived at work and just opening the container released the stench of it being spoilt, with an extremely sour taste! This is rather frustrating and today I did not even bother getting a refund for it! My question is, when is this food actually prepared????? This morning's portion was actually cold, as if it had just been taken out of the fridge so was it prepared yesterday or a few days ago? I doubt that even if it was cooked yesterday, it would leave such a bad taste!!! Is this the standard that Checkers Overport lives??????

The staff are lazy, flirty, rude asking questions about what we purchasing, disrespect the supervisor who also dnt knw how to control them, was in queue told me to go the other side chznged queue 4 times n still poor service, cameras should be reviewed, its pathetic service

Absolutely DISGUSTED with this store! I bought butter that was RANCID and eggs that were ALREADY BROKEN. How dare you sell food that is unfit for human consumption? This is not just poor service — it’s NEGLIGENCE. You are playing with people’s money, health, and safety. Checkers Overport clearly has ZERO quality control and ZERO respect for customers. I work hard for my money, and to be sold rotten butter and broken eggs is beyond insulting. It’s *****, plain and simple. This store is a disgrace. Sort yourselves out — or shut down.

Iam deeply appalled at the kind of food my husband received from checkers overport we discovered live worms in a chicken he had bought there the worst part is that we don't know if he ingested any of them this is very disgusting and dangerous

I would like to express my most utmost gratitude to the employees (Ntsiki, Sanele (OUTsurance) and Lihle (Ntiski and Lihle both Financial Advisers at the Money market) of Checker Overport (The Atrium) for their great service in helping me obtain my bus tickets. From last week, I have been going from one Checkers to another, but when i reached at Checker Overport on Friday evening, Ntsiki together with Sanele welcomed me with a great smile and did their best to help me getting the tickets. But unfortunately, due to system failure the purchase could not proceed. Without any fail, Ntsiki had advised that I return today @10h00am to try again, and luckily I met with another beautiful soul Lihle, and she was very much appreciative and very assisting, the system attempted to fail again but she did not give up till I received those tickets. As we speak my kids will be traveling to Umthatha cos of these ladies. You are very much appreciated ladies..

Dare: 8th Oct 2024, Time was 7:20pm. Shop closes 8pm. Went over to the bakery wife stood there couple of minutes while worker in the bakery just ignored her. Worker not apologetic and intact rude. Went to the cashier 3 staff were at the cashier. Again ignored by all 3. We must have been wearing our magical invisibility cloaks! And that's why I shop at Checkers Westville much better service no matter the time.

Last week my wife and I popped in at the Checkers Store in Durban, Overport, The Atrium Mall. Went through to the bakery and as I stood there waiting for the employee behind the counter that seemed to be staring away from us intentionally, I called out to him and his body language already showed his hesitance to be of any assistance. he slowly made his way to us and I ordered a pie. my wife asked him about a baked item and in an arrogant manner and body language said he does not know what is in it. It seemed that this young man did not want to be at work or totally hated his job, being posted in a position that requires customer interaction should be held by someone that is customer centric. I found a manager behind me and advised him of the issue, he took the young man aside and spoke to him and another lady assisted us. In the whole incident I didn't even check the items that we were served, when I got to the car I found that the pie was ice cold, yet it was in a warmer!!!!!!!!! Checkers Overport, Please train staff to be customer Centric and don't sell cold pies.

I went to checkers Overport today and I found the cashier (Nhipho) and front desk cash clerk (Nomfundo) to be both rude and unfriendly... I lost my checkers Xsavings card I asked if I could use my ID and she says " the systems are not working it's best to barrow someone else's" I then asked for a new card she again says "it is best to barrow a card from someone" i then emphasized I want a replacement card she then calls Nomfundo who should never be a supervisor she certainly has no customer service skills. The 2 employees then communicate in a language that I cannot understand... This made me feel very uncomfortable as I could see in the tone this is now an inconvenience for them as the till could not give me a replacement card... She then calls me to another till, I ask Nomfundo will this be long as I am in a hurry she does not respond completely ignores me.. I ask again again she ignores me again.. I then say to her I am the customer and she should not be ignoring me, finally she responds in an attitude.. I will not go in Checkers Overport again there are many retail stores in the area to chose from Checkers you have lost a valuable customer .
