Basically, if you took the money you would spend (for a family of four + one adult) to any of the China Mall type shops in Port Elizabeth - asked for as many LED christmas lights you can get for that amount, you could turn any garden into a more impressive light show than these shysters set up. There was nothing impressive, nothing "high tech" or "state of the art" - just a whole lot of cheap lights wrapped around stuff and 2 or 3 gimmicks. Anyone over the age of perhaps 4 could not possibly have been impressed with it, we drove to the beachfront afterwards (in an effort to make up for the failed "we are going to see something cool tonight" build up) and managed to recover some street cred with the kids. This David Huni guy should be ashamed of himself, but then again, I read the reviews before going (unfortunately after buying tickets) - so I kind of new what I was getting into, but what could have only been paid for articles in PE's publications and the videos of awed people going to the pre-launch did give me a false sense of hope. To be honest, everyone involved in letting this rubbish carry on should be ashamed of themselves - The Herald for bumping the "We arent running a scam" articles and the people in the video clips for promoting this **** shoot of an "extravaganza".

Extremely disappointing! Advertising said that it starts at 10h00 on 06 December in Port Elizabeth but when we showed up at 17h00, they were still busy setting up,only 3 x vendors pitched up. There was a Xmas father, with no camera to take pictures with. Other than that I think there was another 3/4 activities for kids. The vendors that pitched was 2 x food stalls and a toy vendor (not much of a market). The excuse was loadshedding. When I asked for a refund they said I should've read the small print. Definitely not worth the money paid. Didn't stay to see the light being switched on at 19h00 so cannot comment on that.

This is just to notify people that this event coming up in PE and East London is by the same organizer that did the Stellenbosch Christmas Brilliance and Market. David Huni and Naomi gallery. If you do some research you'll find that they have ran a few disastrous events in the past and then released infuriating unapologetic press releases. Then do it again by changing the name of the event. My boyfriend and I went to the one in Stellenbosch after queueing for an hour with our tickets we bought online we were still no where near the front. There are lots of bad reviews here and on FB, by people who went to these events, got nothing for their money, no refund and no apology. It's the Fyre festival of Christmas markets.
