CIB Insurance does not pay excess out
My car was bumped. They paid out, but will not pay excess out Their response to our claim "A recovery is never a given and it is something CIB does as a courtesy to get your excess (your first amount payable) and their costs back on your loss ratio"
So they will not do me the courtesy of claiming my excess back. Why? Because both parties are covered by CIB, so it is not in their interest to pay out. They can decline it because they get to save the money. So if you are with CIB, and you happen to be bumped by someone else who is covered by them, they will not bother to claim your excess back, whether it is your fault or not.

26 Feb 2026, 11:48CIB has contacted me back and stated AGAIN that i will not get my excess back, and I have it in writing that when both parties in the incident are with CIB, they will not pay out the Excess.
They keep saying that our reports of the incident are different, but I know that both parties reported the same, and the other party acknowledged that he was responsible, repeatedly, on the phone with CIB.
He reversed into me.
