Their client bumped my car in my driveway. I don’t want to claim on my insurance as I was not even there at the time and I don’t want to lose my no claim bonus. They have been IMPOSSIBLE to deal with. They are exceptionally rude and uncommunicative - by email and verbally. I eventually had to put the phone down because the man on the other end was literally screaming at me like a crazy person. Through all his ranting I managed to ask if he was the insurance people or attorneys (because of a comment he made I was confused). He (Gerrie) said he is an attorney - I assume the in-house attorney. He is THE MOST unprofessional attorney I have ever dealt with. If this is the person they let deal with the public it explains a lot.
They refuse to let their client do anything to assist - like give an incident report. Because they don’t want to accept liability. Their client is my plumber who I know well. There is NO DISPUTE over what happened. He told me himself what happened as I was not there. His driver bumped my car. That’s it. No dispute. These people will do ANYTHING to get out of paying. They keep saying I must get an attorney - they think I can’t afford to do I’ll go away since it’s only R7k. But since my best friend is an attorney I’m more than happy to do that. Bottom line - rude, unhelpful, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL.
