After emailing the parts/cutting list to the company, I received a reply the next day from Leo that he is unable to process it and that I must provide a summary of what I want to have done. He indicated that they were short-staffed. I convinced him to proceed nonetheless with the order and he agreed to do so. I then visited the company an hour later to check whether they have in fact done anything. Leo had my order on his Computer and undertook to process it and provide me with a quote before the end of the day [17 July 2020] Until today I have not heard from him again. I was recommended to buy my timber from this company by a well-known icon in the woodworking fraternity, namely Buster Tinsley. I have subsequently obtained the same order without any problems from the Board Store.

The price they quote you for their timber may seem better than the competition. But when it comes to settling the bill you will be informed that VAT still has to be added to the amount. And then the price is not competitive anymore

We ordered four items for our new kitchen: an island counter, a wine rack, a mantle piece and display shelving. All had to be returned. The counter went back twice and got thinner each time. The mantle piece was warped when it arrived and had to be remade. The owner was belligerent and tried to blame the builder. She tried to tell us that the deep gouges in the surface of the island counter were "natural wood tearing" when they were clearly bad workmanship. They had also joined the boards on the short side instead of the long side, leaving the end grain facing the room, which is highly unusual. Again, the owner tried to blame the builder and claimed he had ordered the wood in that orientation. I strongly suspect they used comstock offcuts instead of A-grade timber to make our counter. We had to fight and argue to get anything rectified and in the end we had to settle for what we got. There was no apology and we were treated like unreasonble customers making a fuss about nothing. Country Woods do NOT have a proper machine shop. Buying raw timber from them might be okay if you know what you're doing and choose the boards yourself, but go elsewhere if you want anything planed or laminated.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was really impressed with the customer service. In particular, the lady by the name of Veronica who helped me. I will definitely be returning.
