We installed a 10kwh inverter system with 16 panels on the roof of a large double storey house. It was not an easy job but Full Circle Solar took everything in their stride. Their advice on the optimal configuration was the best we got and they offered various alternatives. Their pricing was competitive and the system has worked flawlessly since installation. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
We ordered four items for our new kitchen: an island counter, a wine rack, a mantle piece and display shelving. All had to be returned. The counter went back twice and got thinner each time. The mantle piece was warped when it arrived and had to be remade. The owner was belligerent and tried to blame the builder. She tried to tell us that the deep gouges in the surface of the island counter were "natural wood tearing" when they were clearly bad workmanship. They had also joined the boards on the short side instead of the long side, leaving the end grain facing the room, which is highly unusual. Again, the owner tried to blame the builder and claimed he had ordered the wood in that orientation. I strongly suspect they used comstock offcuts instead of A-grade timber to make our counter. We had to fight and argue to get anything rectified and in the end we had to settle for what we got. There was no apology and we were treated like unreasonble customers making a fuss about nothing. Country Woods do NOT have a proper machine shop. Buying raw timber from them might be okay if you know what you're doing and choose the boards yourself, but go elsewhere if you want anything planed or laminated.
Read the fine print: Nortan offer NO cover for breakages. If they drop your TV, your problem, your risk, no recourse. In my case they dropped a tall bookshelf which broke in half. Accidents happen, but the owner's attitude was dismissive and unhelpful. Based on the owner's response I would give this firm zero out of 10; I've given them 2 only because the team were very nice and tried their best. Having said that, they were careless in packing the furniture into the truck: and several pieces now have multiple dents and scratches. I will not use Nortan again.
Part of my order was wrong (something I'd specially requested), Neonsales collected the wrong part and delivered the correct item in a few days. The main part of the order was well priced and arrived promptly. Very happy with their service.

A week ago I suddenly found I could not make outgoing calls. The call centre said my account was in good shape (R880 airtime credit), no problems. They suggested I reboot my phone. Since then I've had three or four conversations with mystified agents. They trot out the same advice -- try manually selecting the network operator, try rebooting. After dozens of attempts, this clearly is not going to work. The problem was 'escalated' to a specialist technician... who gave the same advice. The problem is exactly the same if I put the SIM in a different phone, so clearly it's not anything to do with the Android settings. Meanwhile I have to make other (inconvenient) arrangements to make calls and I can't access my airtime credit. Vodacom have been singularly useless in sorting this out. Having been a solid customer for about a decade, I expected more.

Unable to find lithium button batteries at two local shops, I ordered 3 x packs of 5 from Takealot. The package which arrived after a few days contained 3 single batteries instead of 3 packs of 5 (or 15 in total). I called the help line and was told I needed to go online and complete a 'returns request.' I said, "You guys have messed up my order and now you want ME to do more admin? Just send me the batteries, please." No, not possible. Filling in the form I had a hunch the returns process would not be quick -- and in the meantime I needed batteries. So I opted for 'Refund' and returned the box as I'd received it (with the 3 single batteries). Then I went shopping and found batteries (at Dischem of all places) at around R10 each. It took over a week for Takealot to process the return. They refunded the cost of the batteries but not -- get this -- the courier charge, which was about a third of the total. It's a piddly amount, but the fact that THEY messed up the order but I'm out of pocket sticks in my craw. Not to mention the time wasted going onto their website to shop, phoning their misnamed support desk (get-stuffed desk would be more fitting), going back to their website to fill in their form, and then having to go out shopping again because they can't sort out a simple problem in response to a phone call. Needless to say, I will avoid Takealot in future when online shopping.
