Service from Roland personally was great before they received full payment. Based on my first hand experience, I am fully convinced that all the reviews done and photos taken for this 'company' were done a day or two after the work was complete. We paid R60 000 for our driveway and R12 000 for a small patch of paving at our front door at our property in Sunningdale and it's been a nightmare dealing with these characters. Issues since the installation all within less than a year of use include: 1) Subsidence in several places due to incorrect preparation or no laying of subbase (standard procedure for paving driveways I would have thought) after very light use (no heavy vehicles) - happened within a month or so - they have had to come back twice! Company will probably claim this is them being amazing. Left a ridiculous mess on the driveway when trying to rectify subsidence the 2nd time. Used red sand to mix with concrete for the grouting so we have a nice brown patch. As far as I'm concerned, any sign of subsidence within 1 month is a sign of failure to do a paving job properly. The excuse of 'we didn't think cars would be using it' is probably out of the question you would think. 2) 'Grout' cracking all over the place - allowing water and **** seeds to get between the pavers which is highly detrimental to the robustness of any paving system. This is also something they attempted to fix, but it continues to break and crack and go down our storm water drains. 3) Ants pushing sand up between pavers (removing sand beneath pavers!) 4) Mini kerb borders cracking badly. It is clear to me and hopefully all readers that this crowd does not know how to install a driveway that lasts or adds any value (quite the opposite). Roland the owner conveniently does not remember anything that has been spoken about on site, but very thorough when he needs to remind the customer about what has transpired while conveniently ignoring obvious points made. He is also skilled at turning decisions that you were essentially forced to make on site against you, despite empowering one to make decisions on site with his handyman. You will be gaslighted as a customer if you question anything. Additionally, nothing would ever have been done if I hadn't called on several occasions to follow up. My advice is to stay away from these characters and don't waste your money. I recommend going with a paver that is NHBRC registered.

I recently had my driveway re-laid and my experience with Designer Paving was professional and trouble free from the initial telephone enquiry; follow-up and appointment for the first on-site meeting; supply of initial quotation; subsequent on-site meetings to discuss scope of work; submission of updated quotations; commencement and completion of contract; follow-up with site inspection after completion. Thoroughly professional from start to finish. Highly recommended.
