I'd just like to begin this review by stating that this was our very first time staying at Durban Spa. We arrived at Durban Spa at around 2pm, the second room was not ready as yet, understandably so since check-in is only at 3pm. We waited till around 3:10pm and then proceeded to check-in, when we got to our room, it was dirty and it was still in the process of being cleaned. We greeted the cleaner, looked at the room and left, she got upset and started being rude to us and the rest of the cleaners meanwhile we did nothing, a dirty toilet bottle was left in our room as well. The rooms are so small and so are the bathrooms, you can barely fit two people inside the corridor. At night, in the kitchen there were ****roaches crawling everywhere, used doom on one, another came out and so on. There were about 10 ****roaches crawling everywhere, at night and during the day but mainly at night. The cleanliness of this place is horrific.

Cocroaches everywhere. Defiant cocroaches in the hundreds., in the kitchen drawers, in the cupboards, even in the kettle. We even had to shake out every clothing item to make sure we didn't bring any home. This really spoilt our stay.

Thank you SISANDA for sorting out the query we had about our holiday week. And while I am busy - thank you NICOLENE and staff for all the wonderful times we had at the Spa throughout the many years. Well kept, maintained and friendly service at all times - a home away from home. On behalf of our whole family who spent good times with you.

I had a group of 8 ppl we are normally 12 but 4 had to drop out cause the Orchard Spa barley accommodated us 8. We do admit the Girls technic were great, however I was disappointed with the following, 1. Our foot massage was done in shallow dishes which is not what you other branches offer and was not to the standard that I have experienced in the past at your other branches. 2. The room in which my sister-in-law and mother - in-law were in I think only had 1 steamer so I'm not sure wat your lady used but she dropped boiling water over and into my mother-in-law left ear. My mother in law was so stressed and didn't want me to take off with the lady that she waited to get home to tell me. Please see picture of the burn around her left ear. 3. To top it all I had the receptionist tell me I paid the wrong amount in front of my family. She insisted that the treatment was R598 and not R596 as you had advertised. Eventually after try to prove to them what the price was she said only 1 couple must pay R598 so my family walked up to her and paid the R2.00.

Pools were under maintenance and that's the whole feature of the resort. Was only stated in very fine print on my confirmation email, after I paid obviously. Secondly, there were alot of ****roaches. Thirdly, I requested clean linen. I was subjected to a whole lot of embarrassing questions as to why I needed it and in the end I was told in a very rude way that I have to pay for it. I don't understand, I am a paying guest. Having to pay for clean linen is not a huge issue but the mannerism in which I was told was outright despicable. I also barely had access to the jacuzzi, everytime I asked for it, it was booked. And it was non peak I booked in, so I don't know if that was true. There was a power failure as well, no generators in the room. Reception staff were helpful but that's where the goodness stopped. Other than that, don't recommend.
