Avoid at all “COSTS”
Received a quote for r3500 for the shims - turns out the shims are fine it’s the bearings - new quote 14k No thanks for the 14k - that’s fine but it will cost you r1500.00 - I need to pay r1500 for a misquote??? Contacting the ombudsman because how is this place still in business???

Avoid at all “COSTS”

Worst of the worst
My car went in just to have the gearbox changed then everything went downhill from there. The car was not starting and they blamed everything in the car except themselves. My car is worse than when it went in. Thank you but no thank you these people are useless. And they are so defensive about everything especially the bosses

Worst of the worst
My car went in just to have the gearbox changed then everything went downhill from there. The car was not starting and they blamed everything in the car except themselves. My car is worse than when it went in. Thank you but no thank you these people are useless. And they are so defensive about everything especially the bosses

DON'T USE EDENVALE GEARBOX
Highly frustrated this morning. Sent my car in to Edenvale gearbox & diff centre in August 2023 for the gearbox to be reconstructed. Today I took it back to them, as the 3rd gear and 5th gear is problematic. I get a whatsapp from Daniel, telling me that the gears are toast and that I need another reconstructed box.REALLY!!! The warranty is for 12months, this is the 5th month. He insist that there was an oil leak, I reiterated that there was no leak, as the car is parked on tiles and that I would of seen the leak on the tiles. He further goes no to mention that there would of been a metal grinding sound when i changed gears, this infact was not the case. There was no sound when changing the gears. Totally frustrated as I am being **********.

Not upset, just disappointed
Took my car there 3 times. Long story short, I paid a fortune, my gearbox is leaking oil after a full recon, they broke my transfer case and fixed it with JB Weld or Pratley Putty so it can last for the warranty period of 12 months. They are the only people who worked on the car in the past year and after I queried about my transfer case, they denied everything. It seems that no one owns up to their mistakes anymore, much easier to lie their way through.

Edenvale Gearbox and diff out to rob and *****
I phoned for a qoute to have the diff bearings in my 2010 volvo xc60 replaced. I was told it would be R3300 labour plus parts. Parts would be around R4500. I booked the car in and within 2 hours of dropping the car I was sent a qoute of R21000. Not a detailed qoute just one figure of R21000. I expected a breakdown like all other places. I argued about the price then they came down to R14000. That's a big drop within 5 minutes. I still argued that it wasn't the telephonic quote I got. I decided to fetch t he car. To my surprise they never stripped the diff off the car to assess it. How did they come up with a R21000 quote. I took the car to Delport diff and gearbox in Booysens and they done the job for R7480.00 car driving perfectly now. Edenvale Gearbox and diff is definitely out to rob and ***** from customers.

My car went in 3 times and it's worse than when it went in. Fixed the bearing in the gearbox but damaged the clutch. Charged me to repare the clutch which was meant to be replaced. When asked what's going on, I was told that their head mechanic says everything is OK. Their parts and workmanship is under guarantee but not sure what that's worth. They now refuse to return my calls. Considering legal action. Avoid this company all together. There is a reason they are always empty and it's not due to covid-19.
