Based on recent customer reviews, Gorimas faces significant concerns around product quality, customer service and complaint resolution. Multiple customers reported issues with masala quality, rancid nuts, fungus on rotis, and glass found in chilli powder. A recurring frustration is poor follow-up, with stores failing to return calls or resolve complaints. Some customers also experienced being ignored or treated dismissively by staff. Website and delivery policies drew additional criticism. One standout positive review praised exceptional, personalised service from a specific employee at The Glen branch, highlighting that strong individual efforts can elevate the experience.

Based on recent customer reviews, this business delivers a consistently strong customer experience anchored by outstanding agent quality and rapid communication. Customers frequently name individual consultants and praise their friendliness, patience, and professionalism. Recurring praise is given to claims and roadside assistance, though a vocal minority report frustrating delays, rejected claims, and poor transparency around premium increases.

I was with my 2 Autistic little daughters at westwood Mall today and needed to go into Gorima's spice shop. There was a woman with a child in a trolley and her child's pram leaving the shop. I waited till she moved and tried to go in and the female security guard stopped me and told me that I cannot go into the shop with the trolley due to space. I told her i cannot leave my kids in the trolley and she then looked at the manager for assistance. I told the male manager that his security just asked me to leave my kids in the trolley at the entrance and go do my shopping. He sheepishly repeated what the security had said about space. I said thank you and left. I would like to understand how in this day and age, a mother is expected to leave her children unattended and go about her shopping? And if I took both my kids into the shop without the trolley, how would I hold onto both of them and do my shopping? There was no consideration to any of this or any help offered at all. It was a very disappointing episode for me as i shop at this mall all the time and it was sad that there are people like this who are so unwilling to help. Gorima's at Westwood Mall clearly dont need my business which is fine, but I hope this review helps so that no other mother in my situation is asked to put her children at risk in that store

I am extremely shocked to seen what I just saw in the Chillipowder that I purchased I found glass pieces. I was so stunned I was dam shocked. I contacted cornubia today cause I could not get the number for the mount edgecombe store were I had purchased the kasmiri masala. I was then referred to the supervisor from the cornubia store to speak to Roshini. Roshini told the supervisor to ask me to bring it back and wil get it sorted as if this is not a serious matter and a concern which can affect a person ls life. When I asked to speak to Roshini she cut the call n nva returned my call back. The supervisor from cornubia provided me with head office number which I called an spoke to feeza. When the call was cut on me the store supervisor from cornubia called feezal and advised what happened but when I called feeza never notified me she also advised I should take a pic of the bottle piece an forward via watsapp to investigate. I'm absolutely shocked and dissapointed.

I cannot recommend Alfred Ridwaan Mugano highly enough! His customer service at Gorimas the Glen is truly world-class. For the longest time, Alfred demonstrated exceptional professionalism, product knowledge, and genuine care for ensuring I found exactly what I needed. What sets Alfred apart is his commitment to excellence - he doesn't just serve customers; he creates an experience that makes you want to return. His attention to detail, patience in answering questions, and ability to go above and beyond expectations is remarkable. Alfred is a shining example of what exceptional customer service looks like, and he's undoubtedly a key reason why this store excels.

In August 2025, I bought 1kg Kashmiri extra special masala. I only only it in the beginning of Sep 2025, when I discovered that the masala gave the curries a distinct sour taste. At first I thought it was just me, then used it again to cook another curry and discovered the same sour taste. I called Gorimas Sandton to explain my issue and was told that someone will call me the following Tuesday. To date, no call back, it's been 3 weeks. Also the person refused for me to bring in the masala so they can test it and said must wait for someone to call me. I explained that Sandton is out of the way but I had time that weekend to drop it off, she refused. I also advised that I usually buy from Gorimas at the Glen and never had a problem. I am so heartsore that Gorimas Sandton couldn't care less for a customer who has been purchasing from them for over 7 years now. So disappointing. They didn't have the decency to call me or even offer a replacement for the masala.

Really lethargic service from the lady in the spice section - I was the only customer, and she was so reluctant to help me and then the lady at the till kept me waiting while she had her conversation with their security lady

I purchased 4 kilos of Gorima’s extra special Kashmiri masala on the 21st August 2025, started using the masala on the 1st week of September and noticed that the smell, texture and taste was not the same, I informed the shop of this and they advised that I should bring it back, I took it back on the 6th September 2025 with a sample of a previous batch as proof, I did not have the receipt as it was a while back, I didn’t have any label on the masala as I requested the lady from Gorima’s to double seal the packages and put the label’s on a separate packet reason as this was going to be freight to my sister in London, but I did request for them to check the camera footage to see that we did purchase the Kashmiri special mix, if they didn’t believe me. I have been given the run around no follow up on the progress of the query, all I requested was that they give me new batch as it was a lot of money that was spent, I am still waiting for the manager to give me a call as to advise the way forward, I am appalled by the putrid service and needless to say they have lost a valuable customer, I have made countless trips from Lenasia to the Glen to purchase their goods, I eventually contacted Denzil the manager at Gorimas the Glen and he refused to investigate and resolve the issue in any way. The ethos and culture of as per Mr Moola the Director of Gorima’s "hard work and caring is part of Gorimas' culture" so Mr Moola when an issue is raised we get this behaviour from your franchise “WoW” Very Dissapointed Customer

We were in Malvern and decided to go to Pick and Pay there. On our way out we decided to stop at the Gorima's spice shop to get some samosa. This happend on Friday the16th of May 2025, we stood there waiting for services and found all the staff standing around just talking, not one of the staff came over to assist us, they looked at us but totally ignored us for approximately 20 minutes why I knew it was that long I actually looked at the time from when I realised they were blatantly ignoring us to the time they decided to serve us. I said to the guy serving us what is happening that you just ignore the customers he just looked at us and said (can I help you or are you just looking) this was the first incident we had with these people. We went back to pick and pay and thought we would just go past and give these people a second chance, thinking that it might have been a once off incident, but surprise surprise it wasn't, we were totally ignored and when we were served they chucked our products on the table showing no ethicat towards us as there client, she din't even offer us a bag to put your Samoosa's in but offered it to the Indian chap next to us, I said are we being treated like this because we are white or something, well she just looked at me and smiled then turned away and just walked off. We were shunned, ignored, treated like Trash and absolutely as well as deliberately ignored. Never go there if you are not of the correct ethnic group.
