Waste of money
Where do I start? The establishment is dirty and disgusting. The fridges had mould, the eggs looked like they were about to hatch. It’s a health hazard. The food however is not all the rave that it gets. It’s tasteless, bland and unnecessarily hot. The chicken briyani I ordered went bad before I got home . So that was a waste, the bunny was awful. I have had better for less , inexpensive . Going to Goundens is a waste of money and a risk. Social media influencers have raved about this place but failed to tell you the truth. I wouldn’t recommend this place

After sitting for almost 45mins we still received no service.. After trying to get the attention of waiters etc and we were told that we will be attended to shortly but to no avail.. My 2 friends (who are on a short vacation from Johannesburg) and myself walked out also letting the manager know our frustration and he advised he will look into it.. . Goundens Takeaway Umbilo take heed to the unacceptable service.. To the management of Goundens Takeaway catch a wake up or you going to lose clientele that's been loyal to you guys over the years..

Gounden's Take-Away
Good variety of Indian food available at Gounden's Take-Away. There is an extensive range of items to choose from appetisers to breakfasts, snacks, lunches, family meals and desserts on offer for Take-Away. Food quality is very good and service is good as well. For fresh Indian food that include vegetarian options, this is worth the visit.

Best Bunny Chow in Durban
Goundens keeps up to their name and image as one of the leading Bunnny Chow restaurants in Durban. Yesterday, I purchased a bunny together with additional curry and gravy. My wife and I really enjoyed it. It was tasty and sumptuous.

Best Bunny Chow in Durban
Goundens keeps up to their name and image as one of the leading Bunnny Chow restaurants in Durban. Yesterday, I purchased a bunny together with additional curry and gravy. My wife and I really enjoyed it. It was tasty and sumptuous.
