I've been a trustee for 4 years with GVS as our managing agent. Gary is rude and unhelpful to the owners when they need information from him. He has been of no help getting quotes or even recommending companies when we require work to be done around the complex. His budgets are a complete shambles that make no sense. His 10 year maintenance plan completely useless. The trustees have basically had to manage the complex themselves as GVS has been so useless. He does not respond to phone calls or emails from the trustees. You ask him how to manage situation A, and he responds with options for B,C,D and E, but never actually answers the question that's been asked. And for that they have charged us exorbitant management fees! Now that we finally have a new reputable managing agent we are becoming even more aware of the incompetence shown by GVS. Just avoid them, whatever you do.

GVS Property Management under the Ownership and Management of Gary Slabbert - the worst managing agents ever. I received a notice this morning where the Owner was fined R3, 000.00. I do understand that there are body corporate and conduct rules for a reason, used as guidelines to manage a complex, but hell, money greedy is an understatement when it comes to Gary and GVS. This is the second time we are being issued fines without having received any warnings or notices, we have tenants residing in all our units there and each one was supplied with the rules, I feel that we as Owners/Rental Agents are not always aware of what our tenants do, and therefore must be given the opportunity to rectify the situation prior t be being just fined because the Trustees can fine as they see fit according to Gary. We were also slapped with an additional charge of R500.00 for the notice, phone calls, time spent on the issue with the Trustees and Owner, yet we have not received any phone calls, no notices, just a fine with one email, and all that is worth R500.00, I am literally speechless.

Good day, im an owner at this Salvatore Square and its managed by GVS Property and Gary Slabbert. He is very rude and not helpful at all. Who can i get in touch with to lodge a complaint? He will not forward me the details of the manager or a superior and cannot get any assistance from this man. Can some one help me pls. 0823200241

this company's secretary is chasing away my good and reliable tenants by ignoring continuous polite requests by myself, the estate agent and the tenant herself to update the tenant's mobile number to enable her to gain access to the complex where I own a property. It was done only after nearly 3 weeks of emailing, calling and wasting everyone involved's time

We bought into a block of flats which was being managed by GVS under Gary Slabbert. After looking at the finances we noticed that the body corporate was paying ridiculous costs for minimal services by GVS for managing the block and garden and cleaning services. We asked for a copy of his contract but he" couldnt find it". So we gave him notice, only for him to find the contract the day that his contract was due to terminate. The contract stated we needed to give him 3 months notice or the contract was renewed for another year - if he had "found the contract" earlier we would have had the 3 months notice period. So we had no option but to renew it for another year in order to give him the 3 months notice. Now we have finally managed to get in the new agents and he is holding us to ransom. He took 3 weeks to hand over the money, is refusing to hand over keys, codes for the gate access, etc. He has blatantly lied so many times to the trustees and owners and doesn't return calls or emails. If you are not in a contract with him already - DONT ever get involved with him or his business. He is only out to rip you off and if you happen to want to terminate his contract he will sabotage you every inch of the way.

<p>I moved into an apartment in table veiw caoe town in April this year. Everything was great until I had to buy electricity which works out to 2. 33 rand per unit. It might not sound to bad but let me put this in perspective I barely get by on 500 rand a month and im in a bachelor flat. People I've spoken to with a 2 or 3 bedroom house use roughly 300 rand. When contacting GVS Property management I was told that they have asked to eskom to take over the electricity supply but it would cost to much for the change. Which I think is unfair. Just because they get the electricity supply from some 3rd party "virtual municipality" as they call it we all need to suffer. </p>
