This place is extremely dangerous! Do NOT bring your family here. Consider this a serious warning!
My daughter and I visited Happy Island for what we thought would be a fun day out, spending R500.00, a considerable amount of money these days. However, we were met with one disappointment after another. Despite calling ahead and being assured that everything was operational, many of the rides were not working. When we went to the wave pool around 10:30, we were told it wouldn’t be open until 13:00 and weren’t even allowed to enter it to cool off.
The real nightmare began when we encountered an African woman in the HR office who falsely accused us of making a remark we did not make. Shockingly, this woman was a PRINCIPAL of one of the visiting schools that day. She repeatedly threatened us, saying, “I WILL HAVE YOUR FACE REARRANGED,” while aggressively pointing her finger in my face and accusing me of being ******. I genuinely feared for our safety and had to ask security to escort us out of the park. Thankfully, a kind and helpful African security guard assisted us, and I am forever grateful to him.
The behavior of the HR and management was disappointing and biased. It was clear that they had no intention of handling the situation fairly. I now understand that it was a one-sided conversation.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This experience was terrifying, especially in what is supposed to be a family-friendly environment. I urge you to avoid this place at all costs. For a safer and more enjoyable experience, consider visiting established locations like Wild Waters Boksburg or Sun City instead.
