I think a good warning for Hertex Furniture is you're not getting what you pay for. You're paying premium prices for furniture imported from India, and China - furniture that has mostly like been purchased at orders of magnitude cheaper than what they are selling it for. I purchased the Ambassador Armchair, in tan leather, and both came damaged, with gouges in the leather. The leather quality is also questionable, at best. Staff is fantastic though, no questions there. Unfortunately, the prices just aren't anywhere close to the quality you are receiving.

I am completely impressed with the professionalism and customer service I received from HertexHaus in George. Krismari assist me, and she was highly skilled and connected to arrange delivery in Gauteng of my purchase at the George branch. The ambiance here at the George branch is always inviting. Overall the product quality is consistently outstanding.

Late last year I bought 4 cushion inners for my living room ( I was getting my own fabric to make the covers) two square and two rectangular. After getting the covers made I put the cushions in the living room. After a few days I noticed a quite unpleasant smell (not there before) and a week or so later my son also commented on it. It turned out to be the cushion inners. Checking the label I saw that they are made in China and clearly the feathers had not been cleaned / sanitised before being stuffed into the cushions. When I asked Haus for a refund they pointed out that it was more than 30 days since I'd bought the inners and therefore no refund was possible. They also denied that the cushion inners had a nasty smell (though I'd gone to the dry cleaners with them and they could smell it too!). Anyway, all I'm saying here is DO NOT get cushion inners from HAUS - or at least have a good sniff at them first!

I’ve been around for more than half a century. Seldom have I experienced such shocking service as I have from hertex fourways. Spent a substantial amount with them, and without getting into too much detail, They simply will not honor the credits that are due to me for 2 chairs (not received with original delivery) and 1 rug (returned) because the color didn’t work. All we asking for credit not a refund ..have communicated with the manager numerous times but no resolution. It seems they are confused internally. The credit value is approx 5 % of what I’ve already purchased from them. Pathetic and laughable.

The service we have received from this establishment has left a bitter taste in our mouths. We bought 4 high chairs at their showroom and while they are quick to take your cash they’ll give you subpar after sales service. Firstly it wasn’t communicated that we need to assemble the chairs ourselves or we could pay extra for their white glove service - we only found this out after they had delivered. So we pay for the assembly service and they come through to assemble. All should be well right? Nope! Two of the assembled chairs are now falling apart (thank goodness we didn’t assemble ourselves else we wouldn’t have a leg to stand on) less than a week from assembly and fortunately they are willing to replace the chs. Here’s the kicker, they won’t be scotch guarding our chairs like we have which means we must pay again for something we already have paid for. I then suggest they only replace the stand and leave the seat as we’ve already treated them and they won’t. Why? Only they know. I utterly regret purchasing from this store. Nonhlanhla (sales assistant), Shirley (store manager) & Portia (client liaison) you should write a handbook on how NOT to handle customers. Shirley, your “take it or leave it tone” with me this morning is why I’ve resorted to a public review :) P.S. a customer doesn’t need to request their change when making a purchase, it’s an obvious thing to do especially if you know what you’re doing.

Such a wonderful experience with Hertex Haus online chat function and visiting their Pretoria branch last week. On the Online Chat the response was almost immediate. They informed me that they could not answer me there and then but responded within an hour. Really great customer service!

I bought a Hertex Dream Ash Rug at the Kramerville store and after 2 months the creases in from being rolled up were still not flattened the thread is coming apart. I bought a couple of rugs for my house and the Hertex one was way more expensive than any of the other rugs and of inferior quality. When I brought this to Hertex's attention, they told me that they did not feel than expensive rug falling apart after 2 months (with no foot traffic) warrants a claim.
