I made a booking and paid for it on 19 July. Yesterday I contacted the establishment to add a extra day to the booking and to my surprise they could not locate my booking that i made through hotel.com. The establishment said there had occurred a double booking and that I should cancel the booking through hotel.com. its been going back and forth with hotel.com and all they say is that they cannot get hold of the owner therefore cancellation policy stands. This is appalling as I didn't make the double booking and i didn't choose to cancel the booking but between hotel.com and the establishment its a struggle to get a refund. They say one thing and do another thing. So basically they just expect you to write off money for booking they couldn't honour.

I booked a 8 nights stay at Pleasure Suites , Ghanzi, Botswana via Hotels.com. When i arrived to the accommodation, it was fully booked and i was informed that no booking was done for us. While still at the accommodation i checked online and saw that hotels.com was still proposing 3 rooms at this very same accommodation. Horrible experience shared by lot of others, now they do anything to not refund. Do not book through HOTELS.COM ! Horrible !

The website confirmed my booking at a Guest House in Nelspruit and took money. I arrived at Nelspruit only for the Guesthouse not to honour the booking. Hotels.com is refusing to take accountability or investigate why the Guesthouse did not honour my booking. I will never use their service again.

After being a loyal gold level customer for years, I finally had a situation arise, primarily due to faulty information I got from a customer service agent. They have completely been unwilling to help me in any way. Booking through them has cost me hundreds of dollars, I have now learned my lesson, will be canceling my future bookings with them, and advising everyone to do the same.

Booked hotel with a local hotel. Contacted the owner after booking and payment. Hotel owner informed me that there was no availability and requested i cancel my booking, which due to hotels.com terms my payment would be non refundable. There is no contact for hotels.com. i requested the owner cancel the booking from their side. The owner wrote a email to hotels.com. which has been ignored for over a month. With no reply from hotels.com. basically i would never recommend hotels.com. no customer service. No means of recourse. Inaccurate booking availability info.

This is a company that is prepared to do the booking. You pay them and when you arrive at your destination the facility is non operational. When you then ask for your refund they say that you are requesting a cancelation and that you can't receive a refund. That's why they don't allow reviews on their website.

In my experience I wouldn't book with Hotels.com ever again. Not only do they show properties that are full, but approved refunds take 3 weeks or more. You always get the same response with no one actually helping you. The AirBNBs make a massive amount of money, for doing nothing.
