I recently had dealings with Mr Potgieter at iBuy Motors and I want to congratulate him on his professionalism, vast knowledge of the motor industry and the assistance that he offered as I was in the process of buying a vehicle for my daughter. His showroom is in immaculate condition and the quality vehicles are something to behold!

I have written two other IBUY Motors reviews. My first review detailed my experience of buying a car from Phillip Potgieter, the Chief Principal of IBUY Motors in Bloemfontein. After months of deliberation with myself and wrestling with the idea of should I buy the car or not. It was a big decision for me to make as I am not a rich man. Ultimately, I decided to buy my dream car, a Jaguar F-Type 5L V8 convertible, which had been advertised in pristine condition at R575,000. Twelve days after taking delivery of my dream car, the lower coolant hose detached itself because the hose clamp was not secured correctly or at all. This led to the bridge being broken between the radiator and the water pump. Once the bridge broke, coolant rushed out, causing the engine to overheat, resulting in rapid catastrophic damage to the engine. The cost to repair the engine is R410,000, excluding labor. IBUY Motors has refused to take responsibility or offer any assistance. I am in the fight of my life. Three months later, I received the independent assessor's report, and my first thought after reading it was Wow! Can you believe it? Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, Bang, the report arrived, and it had some new shocking revelations! Phillip Potgieter of IBUY Motors set a new standard of dishonesty and misrepresentation in the second-hand car industry. The independent assessor's report confirmed that the Jaguar F-Type V8 Convertible I bought from IBUY Motors in October 2021 had been in a significant accident in 2020. The damage to the Jaguar F-Type was so significant that the official Quote to repair was R459,469.69 the car was a borderline write-off! Phillip Potgieter of IBUY Motors knew that the Jaguar was in an accident and made a conscious decision to say nothing, not a single word. The independent assessor also said he knew someone who was prepared to offer R200,000 for the damaged car. I told my attorney to draft a letter to Phillips's attorney, and my reason for writing the letter was simple I would like this case settled sooner rather than later. The letter stated that the car must remain with IBUY Motors and that we had a buyer who would offer me R200,000. This would leave IBUY Motors owing only R375,000 and not the total purchase price of R575,000. The letter also stated that if Phillip accepted the offer, I would pay my legal fees and other costs totaling R50,000. In the end, Phillip Potgieter of IBUY Motors didn't even have the decency to respond to our offer, which benefitted him more than anyone else. I'm submitting this review because I wanted people to know just how devastating this has been for me and that it will continue to be this way until it is dealt with and finalized in the courts. It is the first thing that comes to mind and the last thing I think about daily. Financially I'm in for R575,000. My attorney and assessors report has cost me R50,000 as of today, and before this is over, it will be over one hundred thousand rands. The amount of time and effort it has taken from me is immeasurable. The dream situation has evolved into a nightmare that feels like with every day that passes; the dream is dismantled a little more bit by bit. As stated before, you've been warned don't buy a car from IBUY Motors; they are a company that cannot be trusted, and Phillip has no idea what the word integrity means. Integrity is a word we hear almost daily, but we seldom take the time to think about it. Integrity is similar to ethics, honesty, and trustworthiness—they are a moral code of values that affect our behavior. Integrity is about doing the right thing in every situation, whether convenient or not. Martin Strode 082 577 0686 25 June 2022

JUST WHEN I THOUGHT THAT THINGS COULDN'T GET ANY WORSE! Phillip Potgieter of IBUY Motors sets a new standard of dishonesty and misrepresentation in the second-hand car industry. I recently discovered that the Jaguar F-Type V8 Convertible that I bought from IBUY Motors in October 2021, which was advertised as pristine condition, had been in a significant accident in 2020. The damage to my Jaguar F-Type was so significant that the official quote to repair was R459,469.69 the car was a borderline write-off! Phillip Potgieter of IBUY Motors knew that the Jaguar was in an accident and made a conscious decision to say nothing about it to me, not a single word. I never thought that I would be able to afford to buy a Jaguar F-Type V8 Convertible, and when the opportunity arrived, it was like a dream to me. IBUY Motors has taken that dream and made it into a nightmare. The amount of time, energy, and stress that this has caused me is immeasurable. My experience and consequences of doing business with Phillip Potgieter, Chief Principal of IBUY Motors, are the following. I'm five hundred and seventy-five thousand rands out of pocket. My dream cars engine is seized through no fault of my own the cost to repair the engine is R410,000; this excludes the labor cost, I'm involved in a lengthy court battle with IBUY Motors, costing me a fortune on attorney fees. This will only escalate because of the new defamation case that IBUY Motors is proceeding with because of the Hellopeter review I wrote in December 2021. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I now find out that my Jaguar was borderline written off the year before I bought it, and Phillip Potgieter knew this and said nothing. IBUY Motors' lack of integrity and defiant attitude towards accepting any form of responsibility or offering any assistance is non-existent. The statements I made about IBUY Motors Bloemfontein and the owner Phillip Potgieter in my review written on December 28, 2021, with the heading, "You've Been Warned," and now this review I'm currently writing are all statements of fact and can be verified if called upon to do so.
Warning! Do not buy a car from IBUY Motors Bloemfontein. IBUY Motors is a dealership you cannot trust. They may promise you a full refund if you are not happy. But if something does go wrong, you will need a lawyer. Twelve days after paying R575,000 for my dream car, the lower coolant hose detached itself. This led to the bridge being broken between the radiator and the water pump, ensuring coolant flow throughout the system. Once the bridge broke, coolant gushed out, causing the engine to overheat, resulting in rapid catastrophic damage to the engine. IBUY Motors has refused to take responsibility or offer any assistance. I am in the fight of my life. Terrible terrible condition vehicles they sell to unsuspecting public. No feedback; no assistance. Claim to have serviced vehicle and we had to replace clutch, exhaust, battery NOT WITHIN A YEAR of purchase! Mechanical warranty null and void as they didn't service the vehicle in 6 months prior to our purchase!

On 30 April 2018, my brother bought a car, Toyota Corolla 2006 model from IBUY Motors a Registered Dealership in Bloemfontein at R 95000,00 cash. I personally took delivery of the vehicle. On 02 May I drove the car from Bloemfontein to Whittlesea which is my hometown. The estimated distance to trave was about 450 kilometers. When I was approaching Penhoek Pass which is about 70 kilometres to Queenstown the car just lost power and cut the engine. I immediately phoned or contracted the dealership for advice, they did not give me any assistance until I contacted a tow truck to Tow me up to Queenstown. I continued communicating with the Manager at IBUY Motors who kept on telling me she couldn't make any commitment not take any decision as the Garage Owner was in America. She asked me to call the next day, I already asked her what should I do, she said I should take the car back to Bloemfontein so they can make a determination, I also asked if we could take the car to any RMI Registered Workshop to make a determination, she said she can't take that decision as only the Boss who was in America could make that call. I contacted him on Whattsapp whilst in America if he was indexed there. The guy was so disrespectful of me as a client, told me straight he can't help if the car is in Queenstown and that he can't pay for any work done outside his workshop all in a don't care manner or attitude. We decided to take the car to Peter Motors, an RMI Approved Workshop who checked the car for us at R1800,00. He discovered that silicon like substance bloked the sump which led to the engine ceasing. He then quoted us about R47800,00 to get a new engine and put it in the car as fixing that one was allegedly to cost almost the same price. We went up to that far with absolutely no assistance from IBUY Motors, a car dealer in Bloemfontein. It is very disappointing that a Dealer of that stature and calibre would treat customers the way IBUY Motors have done to me and my big brother. We would love for people especially those from outside Bloemfontein to think twice before making any commitment with their investments or hard earned money they saved to buy cars to investigate as much as possible before committing.
