I recently dealt with Jetpets and unfortunately my experience was not very good. The process felt a bit unorganized and communication was slower than I expected. I had to follow up a few times just to get proper updates. For something as important as transporting pets, you would expect clear communication and a smoother process. It just felt like things could have been handled better. Hopefully they can improve their service in the future because the concept is good, but the overall experience left me a bit disappointed.

Very unprofessional company…. I got very fast a reasonable quote for the relocation of my 2 dogs from SA to Thailand. It was documented the pick up date and that all the local agent costs including the transport from Bangkok to Pattaya was included. I accepted the quote and did the down payment 10 weeks before the pick up date. Now the nightmare begun: - 3 weeks before the pick up date I was asking for the flight schedule. After a few emails I was informed about the flight date => but this was the pick up date ! I got a reply that I can bring my dogs to the airport by my self and do the Vet check by my own …. I reminded them several times … and attached the emails with the confirmed pick up date. Ad the end they confirmed the pick up date - additional cost for weekend flight or additional boarding days I was informed that hey will charge me 1950 Rand because of the weekend flight or I can pay additional 950 Rand for more boarding days (flight not on the weekend) I accepted the additional weekend charge. - local (Thai) agent not involved / selected I was asking when my dogs will arrive at my place in Pattaya 2 weeks before pick up. I received an email that Google is not showing the address. It came out that because I insist to get an introduction email of the local Agent, that they were asking a relocation company 13 days before the pick up date for a quote ! - additional charge of local agent 10 days before pick up date I got an additional Invoice of 14.000 Rand For weekend charge and the transportation from Bangkok to Pattaya (Remember that on the quote/Invoice the transportation from Bangkok to Pattaya was stated and payed) After I asked to check the additional invoice … I got the reply: “As I’ve said on many emails today the agent is asking for an extra 550 USD then we add 30% on top” “I am the owner of the company and there is no other way to try and explain the extra charges are from our agent and it’s been passed onto you the owner”. This means the quote / invoice does not count !!!!!

I will list the facts of my experience and you can decide whether this is a company you would like to deal with. I most certainly would NEVER recommend it. My almost 9year old snub nosed dog took 9 days from collection outside of CT, RSA to LON, UK. Due to cost, I chose to fly him Lufthansa via Frankfurt. 1. Dog was stuck in Frankfurt for48 hours due to missing documentation. This was not the only missing documentation, as they needed replacement of my ToR and POP. 2. Of course there were last minute increases! They want you to start the process months in advance, where in reality they only actually do anything 2 weeks prior, it feels as if for the sole purpose of overcharging (I notice that many companies do this and there should be an oversight committee to regulate this) So in reality it cost R67000 instead of R54000. 3. I went 3 days with no communication to let me know my dog was OK. I had to constantly initiate communication, as they either did not communicate, or only in response to my constant messages. Obviously this caused HUGE amounts of stress for a) my dog who finally arrived, very anxious, scratching himself raw, however in 1 piece. b) myself and my 82 year old mother collecting him, as I only arrive in several months. You decide...would you use this company?

This company is ridiculous. I had to cancel a return portion of a pet in few months in advance and needed to book the cat in cabin. I had to pay in full from the start for the return of the cat. I cancelled, was given a estimated amount for the refund. I started being told their systems are down, then they are moving servers, then O sorry we did a name change but not to worry as we will def get our refund. It is now almost a year later. After what feels like 50 0000 calls and multiple emails and follow ups. After being ghosted I kept being persistent and managed to finally speak with Sharon, the owner / branch manager of their Cape Town branch. Then just received a email about it's been send to the higher accounts department. NO contact details ever given, no email addresses, no response and I am personally out of pocket of more than R77 000. Now finding out they are liquidated. This is absolutely unacceptable. No responsibility ... just took our money and not even a lets help you try and get the money back. I can not accept this.

Please be aware Jetpets International is out of business. We paid a deposit in June 2024 for our pet to be transported to Europe in October. We read end of June that SA Relocations was out of business (see HP for reviews). Jetpets is part of the same group of companies as SA Relocations is. We notified our contact persons at Jetpets if they were ok. It was after several emails we found out that Jetpets started to reply our emails with a different email account (Jetpets WorldWide). Without our consent and without pro-active communication from their side, we had to find out ourselves that JetPets International was taken over by JetPets Worldwide. Communication had been suboptimal. Our previous signed documents, registration documents, statements and a deposit payment have disappeared from their end. On top of that the quotation became 10% more expensive withour clear reasons. The service quality since the takeover has not met the standards promised, leading to significant concerns (afterall we are transporting our pets). Given these circumstances, we formally requested a refund of the deposit paid by us. The significant deviation in service quality, lost documents, vague reasons for a changing quote, and the lack of prior approval for the new company’s involvement necessitate this request. Until date they went silent on us.

Yes (although days later and more sudden bills to pay…) Did it all go as planned and explained? No. Would I recommend JetPets South Africa? No. Would I use them again? Never.
