I was extremely disappointment with a recent purchase of Porcelain Absolute Lt Grey tiles from their Paarden Eiland branch. The majority of the tiles looked markedly different from the sample tile displayed in-store and from the tile placed on top of the packaging. My tiler, trusting that I am aware of how the tiles looked, proceeded with the installation. It is extremely disappointing to now be left with a finish that does not reflect the quality I expected, nor what was represented in store. The tiles installed on my front stoep have unsightly marks and variations that were never evident in the showroom sample. This is particularly concerning given their prominent placement at my front entrance. I sent an email to Kales Tiles to express my disappointment, but they have’t even acknowledged receiving it.

I spent 20k on tiles from Kales. They intentionally mixed a batch of different calibrations (X, Y, Z) and shades (e.g. 12 and 14) until I ended up with 5 variations of the tile!! (Me as a non-knowledgeable consumer accepted it since they all had the same name). At NO point did they tell me that this is what they were doing, obviously! They want to make sales. These are glorified hustlers - not a business They done this INTENTIONALLY because that is how they buy it and are happy to sell it that way. Their market strategy (as per an internal employee currently working at KALES!) is to buy LOADS of stock of any shade and variation and don't care about the quantity of the variations - That is why they are cheap because they get it cheap when they do this !!!! They then take mixed up stock they have, feed it to the customer and as soon as the customer lays the tiles OR 14 days elapses they will smile and wave and not give a DAMN!! BLUNTLY! Meanwhile your job is *****ed up and you lost THOUSANDS! This is pathetic! I spent over 50K on this job and I am not happy with my house at all! This is EXTREMELEY disappointing! I asked them to AT LEAST refund me the profit margin they've made because I feel they should not be profiting on this sale, and they just tell you NO. People are happy to get cheap tiles at KALES, as per reviews, reinforced with some friendly staff you think this is a good company. However they are running an intentional scheme manipulating the customer by giving them different variations of a tile when its non-rectified because it provides them a competitive advantage. They also add some fine print to cover themselves for this intentional unfair act of capitalization on the consumer. So if you go there (please don't, but if you do) READ THE INVOICE COMPLETELY, AND QUESTION IT, AND RECORD IT. Because they cover their sneaky behinds. Rather go to Malls next door, spend more - But then you'll have a QUALITY job and PROFESSIONAL service. In the long run this is the best way. Malls and other more pricey competitors are not running a business based on a shady market strategies, they care about the customer and their name! Tiling is not cheap, just do it the right way!! You save money in the long run. Stay away from KALES, unless you have an extremely knowledgeable tiler that will give you the transparency they INTENTIONALLY hold back from you. Even so, let's not support bad business!!!!!

PLEASE READ GERHARD NELSON'S REVIEW BELOW BEFORE PURCHASING FROM KALES !! I had a similar experience, I spent 20k on tiles from Kales. I ordered 96 tiles, Of those delivered, 51 where chipped (thats more than half) and could not be used. They could not replace them as there was no more stock. I had to fight for a refund, while my renovations continued. The good tiles had already been layed (thats when the tiler noticed the defective tiles), and when they could not replace the defective tiles, we had to be lift the tiles already layed, you cant have 2 different tiles on a floor. They collected the tiles and then complained about the state of the tiles returned (it had been layed). Eventually, after 2 weeks, they refunded the tiles, but excluded the delivery costs and the cement used. I should not have lost money due to them delivering defective tiles. I already had to pay the tiler twice, to repeat the job. Am I unreasonable for expecting a full refund?
