I am absolutely happy with this place 😀. We had our holiday at this resort and i must say the service, the people and the view is absolutely amazing. I would like to thank Bonnie who is the manager there that gave us such awesome services and also to the owner Jacques. Thank you to both you and Bonnie for saving us on the hiking trails were we got lost at night 👌. I would recommend this place anytime. Its a place to go and relax and get out the busy city.

We booked accommodation at Kumbagana Game Lodge for the weekend 25 - 27 August 2017. We paid the booking fee of R5100 and everything was in order, but when we arrived at the lodge, there was no one there. The entrance to the lodge was locked and all lights on the property were switched off. There was no communication to us regarding what was going on, We tried to contact them but all our calls to them went unanswered. We eventually had to arrange alternative accommodation. We suspect that the Lodge is either Liquidated or there are some kind of Management issues going on there. Their website ( www.kumbaganagamelodge.co.za ) is still functioning. Please advise on what we can do in order to be refunded the booking fee? Where can we lay a complaint? Who regulates Game Lodges in South Africa? Aren't there any accreditation that is required from these entities?

We stayed there 4 weeks ago. I have followed up at least once per week since then to have our deposit refunded. To no avail. Made contact with another person from the lodge who then had a lot of excuses, terrible service and attitude - and put the phone down on me twice.

So angry and disappointed.

Lodge has so much potential, but bound to die a slow death with a service attitude like that.

Fraudulent.

Looked for hotel accommodation. Made the booking through Hotels.com. Got the guarantee e-mail. Drove all the way there to find out it is a tent camp site. This after the e-mail confirmation used words like "room", 8 twin beds, etc. Even a picture with the chalet we thought we had booked.

The receptionist had a very bad attitude. The second sentence she used, whilst pointing her finger was "Do not argue with me" Then continued to blame us for not checking and managing our booking and said we had to deal with Hotels.com to get the issue resolved and that it was not her responsibility.

Though one would also be accountable for actions by a third party on your behalf?

Poor Poor.

We were 5 couples with children that booked the whole weekend.Problems started on Saturday morning with the Game Drive as we reserved ahead of time and booked out 2 vehicles for a Game Viewing session starting at 9am. Friday evening we were informed that the drive will be moved to 8 am via SMS - but since we have small children that takes ages to get ready we said that we would like to keep it at 9 as originally agreed. We were then informed that the drive will leave at 8:30. How can there be a drive without us as we reserved and booked it? Next morning at 8:30 we arrive to find other people on the vehicles we reserved & booked out!
When we asked why we had to split up between other vehicles we were informed that the people on the vehicles were \Special Guests"and Apparently we were not special .

THEN we had a successful wedding on Saturday night"
