Reception staff and premises leave a good impression. Asked them to inspect a plastic grill which had 1 of 5 mount points broken. On collection I found the grill lying in the car with all 5 mount points broken. A few items on my service list were not attended to. This leaves me questioning how conscientious the remainder of the service was conducted. The car was washed and returned with streak marks across the paintwork. No attention to detail.

A very good dealership with extensive network. Reasonably priced deals on all new vehicles. Wide range of used vehicles also available. Customer service is very good and staff are knowledgeable about the vehicles on sale. Safe and secure parking on the premises. Test drives can be conveniently arranged when booking an appointment. Nicely sized showroom in an easily accessible location. Definitely worth the visit, for those looking at purchasing a vehicle.

Range Rover SMG, Tokai, never again… My awful, experience with Range Rover SMG, Tokai Cape Town. I bought a Range Rover from SMG, Tokai. Soon after I had it the sun roof began to squeak. I took it down to Range Rover SMG Tokai. SMG Tokai, agreed to fix it and said it was a very big job. They needed to order the parts, I waited they came. They fixed the roof over several days, because they need to dismantle the roof and like the whole car. The squeak was fixed! Some months later a part of the roof flew off for no reason other that the fact that I was moving, a pretty standard state of motion.. for this is car we are talking about. I messaged SMG,Tokai about it, they said bring it in. I was very busy packing my house to move and told them I’d try get to them. I went down to show them and was told to send an email. I sent the email and got back a no go for SMG, Tokai. I was surprised, surely this is under warrantee and now they are saying they didn’t touch that part of the roof, when initially the whole roof needed to come off? They told me to bring it down again, gosh? Why? Cant I sent a pic, or why didn’t they take one the first time they wasted my time? I went down again. Got another no go. I don't know what to do.. My family has bought 4 Range Rovers in the past 3/4 years, I have also referred some friends that have both bought from SMG Tokai and also some that were keen to do so in the near future. Surely this is a strange way to treat very loyal customers, who are also big promoters of the brand and branch, but of course this is not the first time the one team has sabotaged the efforts of a another(marketing) teams work and I do feel sorry for the sales guy who is in a difficult place and a really nice guy. I feel like I was sold a defective product initially, the roof part that flew off was possibly damaged in the process of fixing the sunroof, or maybe it was also initially not properly installed (much like its Siamese twin the sunroof). They wasted my time in getting me to take my car down twice and they would rather lose my family as clients over a 3K part (retail price) that lets face it... probably costs them considerably less. I will not be dealing with Range Rover SMG, Tokai ever again. Deeply, deeply, deeply disappointed guys.
