Avoid this company at all costs. After moving out of our apartment in Amsterdam Estate (Olivedale), managed by Landsdowne Properties, our entire deposit of approximately R11,000–R12,000 was withheld. The justification provided at the time was: - Repainting walls and doors — despite this being normal wear and tear after lawful occupation. - “Slight swelling” in a bathroom cabinet panel, which they used to justify replacing the entire cabinet rather than repairing a minor issue. I can understand the walls, but replacing an entire cabinet over minimal swelling is excessive. If basic bathroom humidity causes swelling, that reflects material quality, not tenant negligence. There was no fair distinction made between reasonable wear and tear and actual damage. Based on our experience, deposits do not appear to function as security — but rather as a convenient renovation fund. Now, nearly a year later, they reach out to us stating that we owe an additional R400 on top of our security deposit that was withheld. Tenants should proceed with extreme caution.

Reached out to an agent named Layla Agherdien via an ad for a house I was really interested but she didn't respond. I reached out again via WhatsApp and by that time there was already an offer, I asked if we could put in a higher offer but she didn't answer the question. After several follow ups FROM MY SIDE ONLY she left me with hope that their might be a 50% chance the sale will go through. So I stayed hanging on trying to follow up after a week or so but she just blatantly ignored my texts and even my email. Complete lack of professionalism and terrible customer service.

We are writing to express our significant disappointment with our recent purchase of a ground-floor unit at Balwin Amsterdam Olivedale, following a long period of renting. We were drawn to Balwin's concept of lifestyle living and security, and this HUGE acquisition represents our first home. However, since moving in four months ago, we have encountered several issues that have significantly impacted our living experience: 1. Audible Plumbing Noise: We consistently hear water rushing through the pipes within the walls, particularly during bathing, showering, and flushing. 2. Noise Transmission: We are able to hear our next door neighbours television and the washing machine of the upstairs unit. 3. External Pipe Noise: The external pipes generate noticeable noise. 4. Inadequate Soundproofing: The ceiling concrete slab appears to lack sufficient soundproofing, contributing to other noise issues. 5. Delayed Management Response: Our attempts to contact management via email have been met with prolonged delays in response. We kindly request Balwin's assistance in addressing these concerns. We are hopeful that these matters can be resolved to improve our living conditions.

I have been having issues with these people and they seem to not take our issues seriously. I need a list of people who have been wronged by this company and have proof of their misconducts. I work at a restaurant where the CEO of Landsdown Properties, Jonathan, came to dine. During his visit, he made several inappropriate and uncomfortable comments to the female staff. His behaviour was unprofessional and made us feel disrespected while we were just trying to do our jobs.
