I have been to 3 of their branches: Wonderpark and Menlyn in Pretoria, and 1 in Cape Town! Went once in Wonderpark, twice in Menlyn and once in Cape Town. Their customer service is absolutely terrible!!! You sit there for hours waiting for a haircut, yet you don’t see many people waiting. The staff are busy galavanting, talking and texting, and they just do not care about us their clients. They simply could not be bothered! When you go and enquire, you are greeted with rude responses such. The last time I was there, I walked out without getting my haircut because I just couldn’t take it anymore! I told myself I will never ever step foot in any of their shops ever again. With complaints I see gaining traction on social media now, I really hope they change their stance before they lose a lot of customers. As for me, there is no turning back. I am done!

Goodness, it took me forever to write this review but I just have to give credit where its due, it was exactly on the 2nd of January when I went to Maponya Legends hair salon with my 10 years old daughter, I wanted to cut my hair and dye with a grey color, it was obviously Jan and they informed me that they don't have stock, the manager there really came through and made a plan, I was really satisfied with the service, he really pulled his A game and delivered the way I anticipated, im definitely coming back, its a pity that I don't remember his name, but kindly request that you give that man his flowers while he's still alive.

As someone obsessed with consistency, I’m fiercely loyal to my barber. That said, I was genuinely impressed by Khanya at the Vincent branch in East London. I was back home from Johannesburg and needed a cut, so I set out to find a barber I could rely on whenever I’m in EL—and Khanya passed my personal vetting twice. Beyond the technical skill, his calm demeanour and personalised, easy conversation were the cherry on top. Most importantly, the haircut was exactly how I wanted it. I’ve been with the same barber for three years, so that’s saying a lot.

It has become clear why my children dislike visiting your barbershop; it appears there is a distinct lack of tolerance or understanding regarding younger customers, and perhaps a preference for other clients. This level of unprofessionalism is disheartening.

Extremely poor experience (Legends Barber, Pavilion Mall, Durban) I had a genuinely bad experience at Legends Barber in Pavilion Mall, Durban, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a proper men’s scissor cut. From the start, the haircut was handled poorly. The barber took a long time just to attempt the fade and still got it wrong. I clearly explained what I wanted, yet he did something completely different and then tried to “fix” it in a rushed, patchy way. The fade was not blended properly and looked uneven. The scissor work on top was just as bad. Sections were missed, the cut was uneven, and I had to repeatedly point out obvious issues and ask him to redo parts. Even after corrections, it still wasn’t done properly. It was clear he does not have strong scissor-cutting skills, yet he is offering this service. To make matters worse, the scissors themselves appeared to be blunt. The way he was scissoring my hair was extremely slow, awkward, and hesitant, and he honestly looked like someone doing this for the first time rather than a trained professional. The cutting felt laboured instead of clean and precise, which likely explains the uneven result. Styling was another issue. He didn’t ask how I style my hair and started setting it incorrectly. There is no option for hair wax, only cheap low quality hair gel. The blow dryer was used on extremely low pressure and did nothing. Shockingly, for a barbershop, there was no proper brush available, only a small comb. I ended up having to show him how to push my hair back myself. To be fair, the barber wasn’t rude and did apologize when I raised concerns. But apologies don’t make up for the fact that he should not be offering men’s scissor cuts if he clearly doesn’t know how to do them properly. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I won’t be returning, and I strongly suggest others avoid Legends Barber at Pavilion Mall, especially if you’re expecting a professional scissor cut for R300

Went to Cresta Legends at 2pm and left at 6pm because the loud guy doing my hair didn't check if they have the grey dye I asked for. He bleached my hair then realized that he doesn't have the dye, I had to wait for them to buy it. Then when I got it done my hair has 2 colors the grey and the bleach.

Good cut, fair price. Barber listened, didn’t rush, and got it right. Solid place.
