Apart from doing something for the environment by selling perfectly usable groceries after the best before date, the staff at Looters are simply amazing. I have yet to find a store where every single employee genuinely greets me throughout the store. Prices are great and it helps me save on goods that I otherwise simply would not have bought!

We bought a small packet of tea, and a small mini pack of weetbix at looters mini branch in Kirstenhof main road about 25 June 24, prior to 28 June 2024. My wife ate two of the weetbix biscuits on Wednesday, 26 June. She did not feel well thereafter. In fact, she had a runny tummy for two days, being Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, 28 June 24, at around 13h10 we took the items back, as the weetbix smelled like damp wheat, and off. The store staff responded to my wife with their policies surrounding your shopping experience with them, reminding her that they have a board with all their policies pertaining to expired products being safe, and they guarantee their products not to make you sick. As if they can guarantee anything. Off foodstuff cannot be remedied by promises. The staff told her that they don't do refunds, and that we had to go to their main store to management, which we did. Once there, my wife was sent to some foreigner guy, to assist her. As if he was able to do so. Eventually we were given a manager who kept their office door tight shut. We explained to him about being sent around for R30 refund of a product that medically affected my wife. my wife asked his name which he refused to give his surname telling her that he don't have to do so. But she got his name as Michael. It looked like they were not wanting to give the refund. The whole attitude was wrong, and they gave us the impression that they did not want us in the store. My wife had to threaten them to get the refund. Their number is 021 2240915/6/7

#What a wonderful store to shop with so much saving. What's so amazing is that they sell quite a few American products and their Korean noodles are by far the best priced. The owners are so friendly and helpful including the staff. This is a goldmine where you do your shooing by half the price going somewhere else. For #Mothers day treats they have such a big variety of chocolates, nuts, imported sweets, imported cookies, beauty products for hair, face and body. You could easily create a beautiful basket for Mother's day with everything that is needed.

#What a wonderful store to shop with so much saving. What's so amazing is that they sell quite a few American products and their Korean noodles are by far the best priced. The owners are so friendly and helpful including the staff. This is a goldmine where you do your shooing by half the price going somewhere else. For #Mothers day treats they have such a big variety of chocolates, nuts, imported sweets, imported cookies, beauty products for hair, face and body. You could easily create a beautiful basket for Mother's day with everything that is needed.

It is quite appauling that Looters is selling expired goods from way back. I went into the shop in the past week as they are at the old market place in Tokai. I first was surprised that their goods are pricey and expired dates shows anything from 2019 - 2024 where most good are expired two years ago. Shocking to say they still expensive for expired goods. Then Secondly they are very cheeky to show coffee capsules which I find was one of the items that was not expired. 3 boxes of coffee capsules for R115 what a bargain. Only to pay at the till do I realise they add your VAT up at the end of your total bill. I do think it is iliegal for them to price all items on their shelves excluding vat. I have never seen a shop do that in South Africa. So you don't really pay R115 for the coffee as per their adverti*****t. I find their dove body soap same cost as in the shops so there is nothing special about the price. They sold a cocunut water tin for R9. 99 which expired in 2019. If I can give a list of expired goods and cost there is not enough space here. Won't recommend them specially that they price all items ex Vat.

I was charged for 3 items I did not purchase. I was purchasing multiple items and the cashier "inadvertently" rung up one extra item, on 3 different items! Totally unacceptable!

I feel it necessary to let you know that I was completely taken aback by being treated like a criminal at your store today. As explained to your 3 managers/storekeepers my husband was resting in the car after having run a marathon this morning and asked me to go in for his deodorant and any other goodies on my own as we do most Saturdays after the Market. To then be reprimanded for taking a pic of his brand to ensure I had the right one was distasteful to say the least. What right or reason could you possibly have for not allowing pix to be taken of a product. I'd love to know

Two cashiers open. I was next to check out with 2 cool drinks in hand. One customer finished paying and left. I was supposed to be next. The cashier moved to the other till and took over from the current cashier. No explanation. The line of people got longer as we were all waiting for the only cashier to finish with timing up items that don’t scan etc. it took a while but we all stood and waited. Then a second cashier opened up another till further down and called the guy behind me to check out. I voiced my concern and was scolded by the first cashier and told not to be rude. I was told that the third till is only for card payments and I was standing at a cash till. I explained that I have both forms of payment but the cashier should have asked for the next customer. When this cashier was done with he complicated customer she moved to my till. Rang up the two cool drinks. And withheld my change and told me that her other cashier was on leave. If I wasn’t happy I should’ve opened my mouth. I told her that I did open my mouth and she did nothing about it. Amazingly this stupid scene could have so easily been saved. First and last time I will support this store. Such a pity. Lesson to be learnt, but sadly the opportunity will be lost. I wander how many other customers are treated in this way and will never return.
