My mum was admitted to sandton Medi-clinic and like all hospitals we were very worried about her getting the best care. But Sandton Mediclinic went above and beyond. 1. They saw that she needed more attention and offered to move her to a room to get 24 nursing 2. The Dr Khonje and Dr Smith and the nursing staff were attentive, daily feedback, caring for her like only family could 3. Changed medicine and arrange alternate care quickly to ensure she recovered quickly. 4. Even when she moved from Medical to neurology ward. The medical nurses would see us and check on her progresss 5. The staff (cleaners, support and nurses ) seem to be well trained to be polite and respectful. When they pass you in waiting room. They all greet and acknowledge you. Shout out to Maggie Mahlungu who specifically stood out This is world class service and you rarely find.

Paarl Medi-clinic I gave birth on 5 May 2025 at Mediclinic Paarl. Initially we attempted a normal delivery. The anaesthetist, Dr Kurt Louw, inserted an epidural for pain relief, but unfortunately the epidural failed. Later that evening at around 19:30, my gynaecologist examined me and it was decided that I needed to go for an emergency caesarean section. At that stage a spinal anaesthetic had to be administered for the surgery. The biggest problem has been the billing afterwards. My medical aid, Government Employees Medical Scheme (GEMS), has indicated that the doctor billed for both a normal delivery and a caesarean section. According to GEMS, they will only pay for one because a patient can either have a normal delivery or a caesarean section. This has unfortunately left me dealing with a billing dispute and unexpected financial stress after what was already a difficult birth experience. Patients should be aware and ensure they understand the billing for anaesthetic services in advance where possible.

I am wondering if Mediclinic is having trouble in certian ways. It happened twice now that my care giver was taken to work in another ward. Please explain to me who's medical aid is going to cover their cost for the two shifts been worked? If it it is mine there will be trouble for sure. I have seen some shoking thing thing in this clinc aswell.

Paarl Mediclinic how do you refuse medical care for a child after the procedure was done at your hospital? My child complain about severe abdominal pain after the operation was done at that hospital. The authorisation number i personally obtain from GEMS and gues what? My child was already discharge and send Paarl Provincial Hospital. I am confident Paarl Provincial will fixed your mistakes. As a parent how do I send my child back there( authorisation number for Paarl Mediclinic is obtained) you don't see human beings suffering but how much money can you make. Hire competent staff that have patient to deal with GEMS and heartbroken parents. Private hospitals in general will never welcome the NHI because they profits will be smaller.

CAPE GATE EMERGENCY SERVICES On 23 December 2025 my daughter took me there. I have chronic kidney disease CKD and was stung by a swarm of bees. Upon arrival I told the attendants, several times, that I have CKD and gave them the pouch with all my medication. The staff earned 5***** for friendliness and 0* for competence. It would take pages to explain what they did wrong - so herewith the most important aspects: (This information I googled on my return) 1. They used the wrong way to remove the stingers, thus more venum into the bloodstream 2. Nothing was dealt with timeously - a CKD requirement 3. Did not at any stage ask me to lie flat with legs elevated 4. Prescribed antihistamine not effective with CKD 5. Prescribed Prednisone which can only be used with on going medical management 6. Attendants did not introduce themselves or tell me what they will be doing. A standard requirement suggested by all the world renowned medical institutions. It has been a standard procedure for me to Google all information about any treatment as soon as possible after receiving it. I will be posting on Facebook about this. When I realised how inadequately I was treated, I went back to give them useful information and to get the treatment and medication details, for my CKD hospital visit. I spoke to Senior Professional Nurse Stevens. He listened and said they would e-mail the information. They did NOT. I also told him that to be stung by a swarm of bees is rare, however, the attendants could also have Googled for assistance!!! My recommendation is that you should not use this emergency facility.

Run away from this hospital; rather go to Bloemfontein or Goldfields Health Center, but stay away. If you have mental problems with bullies or conflict, stay away. Sister Corrie Uys treats you like a dog, and the staff as well. You won't get a safe place here, or you will be worse off.
