Apart from being totally overpriced, I bought a wooden haberdashery ring from them. When I got to the car, my hands and my whole outfit was stained burgundy red. I went back to show them and the owner was just laughing it off.

I visited Metro Home Centre Menlyn Appliances to purchase a Siemens iQ500 front-loader washing machine in dark grey. I explained that I urgently needed the machine and requested same-day delivery (Saturday). Reddy initially told me it was too late for delivery. While I was trying to arrange my own transport, another sales consultant spoke to Reddy, after which he confirmed that the machine could be delivered before 2pm. The machine was delivered as promised. Unfortunately, I was not at home at the time and requested that security receive it and that it be left at my door. Later that evening, while installing the machine, I noticed visible and disturbing scratches on the front display and around the washer door. I contacted the store on Sunday and was informed that Reddy would only be available on Monday. When I contacted him this morning, I was transferred between multiple departments without any assistance. I was eventually told that the machine had been checked during delivery and was in good condition. I explained the damage to Reddy and stated that I would return the machine for a refund if it could not be replaced. He then informed me that I would not receive my money back. I had previously experienced poor customer service at this same store when shopping for a fridge, but I did not expect to encounter the same issues again. Unfortunately, the service remains appalling. Due to product scarcity, I had no choice but to return to this store, which I now regret. I would not recommend this store or its customer service to anyone. I am essentially being told to live with a damaged product because they claim it left the store in good condition.

They kindly unboxed, carried it around the back, and got it in the house and into the kitchen. Fantastic service! Note to self: view the item in real life before purchasing online, where pictures are a lot smaller than real life.

Excellent and efficient service received from this store. I wanted to purchase an item via their online website. Made an enquiry via whatsapp first and the assistant was extremely helpful and polite. Item was delivered in less than 2 days. Will definitely recommend this store. #BlackFriday

I bought a Philips HD9270/91 Air Fryer from Metro on 3 July 2024. It carries a 2-year guarantee. On 15 May 2025 I returned it to Metro because it had stopped working. I was told it would take about 2 weeks to repair or to replace if it could not be repaired. Six (6) weeks have now passed and I still don't have an Air fryer, either new or repaired. I get empty promises about the progress but I have now found out that it was only collected 2 weeks ago because the shop assistant had used a wrong email address to the Service Tech service centre. He never told me this before and I was placed under the impression that it was being repaired. I have also not been able to get a ref no for the repair, although Service Tech assures me that Metro must have one. As a result ServiceTech is also unable to assist. I have been given the runaround and false promises by Metro for 6 weeks and there is no progress. They should by now have provided me with a new Air Fryer.

What a mediocre service I’ve received, I bought a six burner Smeg stove from metro home centre Menlyn, only to open a stove a find there’s piece that is missing. I’ve contacted the store regarding the issue of which I was never assisted and I was told by one of their staff(Gwertbelang) in a very rude manner that it’s not their fault that they sold me a R25000+ worth of an item that’s incomplete, I was told I need to contact Smeg regarding the missing part. I don’t know how that makes sense because I bought the item from them not Smeg. This is such an absurd service, extremely unprofessional staff, shouting Yoh. Don’t fall for their low prices and waste your money on these guys. ****mers, imagine paying 25k+ on an item which is incomplete? Rather do your research and buy from reputable brands who treat their customers with respect and dignity.

I have been without a washing machine for over a year. Finally after a lot of hard work and saving we managed to buy one from Metro Home in Menlyn. From the start there were problems with this BRAND new DEFY washing machine. Besides all the washing being covered in washing powder and not we did not put to much in, the leveler also did not work after spending 40 mins try to level it, hence having a very loud banging washing machine with the drums banging the whole time. A technican came out, not only did he put his cellphone and *****driver on the glass top, he proceeded to full and empty the washing machine with water...NO garments inside just water, not once but 3 times. Ended up under the washing machine with a little ***** driver and said it fixed. When we asked what about the leveler he said yes its not working but its not a problem! He also reported back to DEFY that there was no problems!!! Contacted Metro menlyn again and another tech was sent out, he said there is clearly a problem with the machine, not only did he do it correctly by filling the machine with water and garments he also recorded the the noise and banging and to this day it is still making all the washing full of washing powder. He also confirmed that the leverler is broken. People this washing machine was/is BRAND NEW. I want a replacement! I also feel if you buy a item from a shop it is their responsiblility to ensure your issues get sorted. Metro Menlyn you know we have been patient and accomodating but its now been nearly two weeks and we have not heard a word from Metro Menlyn or DEFY! This is really unacceptable! This washing machine was used TWICE and the first tech came out, it was then used only another TWO times when the 2nd tech came out. A BRAND NEW washing machine! It is not right that this is happening and this machine definitely is faulty and no ...... no more so called repairs. Between Metro Home Menlyn and DEFY a new machine needs to be arranged. Very dissappointing and upsetting! Not happy at all

My name is Zamo Khuzwayo. My wife, Lerato and I, ordered curtains and paid over R18 000 for our house on the 03rd April 2024. Initially we did and submitted our own measurements. The salesperson Renoo rejected the measurements and insisted on redoing them herself. She visited our house and took the measurements herself. On the 29th April Metro sent its installation team. The curtains badly installed as they left a gaping on the side not covering the entire sliding door. We raised the matter with the salesperson. She asked us to send pictures and videos which we did..She took very long to respond. Eventually, on Monday 20 May Metro sent the installation team to fix the problem. Instead of fixing the problem, the installers only shifted the curtain rail to the side where the gap was, but creating another gap on the other side. This has left us very hurt and disappointed with their service and wasted money. This has to be fixed or our money returned.
