I am so impressed by Metro in Menlyn Retail Park, they have the best prices and best service at the small and large appliances departments! I had an issue with a dishwasher I bought and they were hands-on involved until it was completely solved! When I phoned for a price on a small appliance, it was waiting for me when I arrived and R400 cheaper than anywhere else! Really helpful and friendly staff at the appliance section. Will definitely go back there!

Terrible customer service & ********* business practice. I bought a kettle with a 1 year guarantee (can convert to 2 years if you register with Mellerware). Within less than 6 months it stopped working. I returned the kettle in good condition with the slip. They refused to refund me or give me in store credit to buy a new one - said the element had burned out because I did not clean the kettle properly, to remove the calcium. When I asked how often that should be done, they said it should be done every 6 months. But the kettle was not even 6 months old! Shocking that they refuse to uphold their promise of a warranty…

Very disappointed. Very rude staff. Asked to cut 20cm pieces material, they said they only do 30cm smallest. I said I will then take 40cm but can they please cut it in halves, so its 2x20cm. After discussion they said they will but only if I pay extra for the extra effort. Wont be going there again!!!

I bought material there and not even 3 moths later there are floors in the material. (it is upholstery material), so it was not visible immediately. I went to metro, and they said there policy is no returns after 7 days. The upholsterar was not even done with the work in 7 days. Now I am the one loosing all this money, and need to replace my couches within 3 months. How is that fear - and they just walk away and I need to take all the lost.

I feel rather annoyed that Metro has not done anything to show how serious they are about customer care. My point is that a 2 week project turned out to be a 7 week project. Apart from the delay Metro made us pay the full amount of R30000 as per full quotation already on 15 August. Metro does not want to take any risk even though it is solely a delay from Metro. Sorry is not helping me and does not show that they are serious about customer care at all. I negotiated for either a discount that they can keep as a credit note for a next purchase or alternatively an offer to make scatter cushions or bolsters for free My counter proposal to “we are sorry it is not within our control” was never entertained. They kept on promising that management will come back to me. I have no choice but to warn future potential customers that they must be prepared to wait for 7 weeks irrespective of what the agreement is and you have to pay 50% on date of order. We also had to pay the rest of the money 50% already on 15 August. Metro also regard a R30 0000 job as a small job. I numerously attempted to settle the matter amicably with no success.
