My experience with this business has been deeply disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my story so others know what they might be walking into.
Despite all the glossy social media posts and the photographer boasting about features in publications like New York Weekly Magazine, the actual client experience tells a very different story.
To start, on the day of my shoot, the photographer arrived nearly an hour late — not because of traffic or an emergency, but because her assistant failed to inform her that the shoot was happening at Newlands Forest, not the Gordon’s Bay studio. This wasn’t just inconvenient — it set a stressful tone for the entire session.
I was told I’d receive my edited photos in 12 weeks. We’re now at week 14 and I’ve heard nothing. I’m still waiting — without clear communication — and I’m still owed a 2-hour shoot. While I was told the photographer had been ill (which I fully understand and sympathize with), the complete lack of proactive communication is unacceptable.
Out of frustration, I started looking into other reviews — and honestly, I wish I’d done that earlier. The same issues repeat again and again:
People waiting months for their photos with no updates
Packages not being delivered in full (missing champagne, missing hair appointments, far fewer photos than promised)
Venues being changed last minute, sometimes to someone’s personal home
Cold, cliquey energy on shoot days
Manipulative pricing — like being told you'll get 30 photos, but then being asked to pay R200 per photo after already paying for the shoot
Promises of refunds that never materialize
One reviewer even shared being told, “You’re the first to ask, so you’ll be the last to receive,” just for politely inquiring about their photo timeline. That says everything you need to know.
This business claims to be about empowering women, but based on my experience and the many reviews I’ve now seen, it feels like a polished front for a chaotic and money-driven operation. These ladies are not professional. They are not transparent. And sadly, they are not what they claim to be.
If you’re thinking about booking with them, do your research, read real reviews, and ask for everything in writing. Don’t let the glamorous branding fool you — the reality is far less inspiring.
