Based on recent customer reviews, MMU Motors faces significant criticism across multiple branches including Northcliff, Klerksdorp, Lephalale, and Vryburg. Customers consistently report unresolved post-sale issues such as delayed license disks, unsettled trade-in accounts, undisclosed vehicle defects, and unfulfilled cashback promises. Communication is a major pain point, with buyers having to chase updates themselves while calls and emails go unanswered. Head office intervention appears ineffective, leaving customers feeling ignored. The few positive reviews praise helpful individual staff members and an appealing showroom experience.

I bought a car at Vryburg dealership, North west, in October 2025, until today I haven't received my license disk, they have been telling me that there is a backlog at Head Office, they promised that I will get it on Wednesday 24th Feb 2026.

Bought a car from them. They got a speeding fine with the car I traded in. Ive sent the ticket to them on the 8 th of September. Almost 2 months now. I have to constantly remind them. Nothing happens. Looks like head office or the DP is useless

Took my GWM Bakkie to MMU Lephalale in May 2025 for an overheating problem and to date, did not receive the Bakkie back. The mechanics employed at MMU is the 3rd Mechanic working my car since May. My recent mail received from MMU asking for more money to have my Injectors replaced. No clue as to what Injectors has to do with overheating. First my car battery had to be replaced while at MMU Lephalale, Now Injectors. No phone calls received to update me on any progress. I have to constantly go there myself for updates. I established contact with MMU JHB Zaheer Laher and asked for assistance, instead turned a blind eye and rather committed to escalate my complaint to the regional manager in Lephalale. no call or intervention whatsoever.

I bought my first car — a Suzuki Swift — from MMU Bela Bela in June, 2024. At the time of purchase, I trusted the dealership completely and was assured I was getting a fair and reliable vehicle. No accident history or paint repairs were disclosed to me. A year later, during a trade-in inspection with WeBuyCars, I was shocked to learn that the vehicle had been in an accident and repainted before I bought it. I also later discovered (only when I needed to take it for servicing) that the car had no full service history — another important detail that was never communicated at the time of sale. When I raised these issues with MMU Bela Bela, I was told there was “no proof” that the accident happened before my ownership. For a first-time buyer, this is deeply disappointing and feels like a complete breach of trust. I believe MMU Bela Bela should take accountability for failing to disclose critical information about the vehicle’s history. Transparency and honesty are the foundation of trust in any sale, and customers deserve to know exactly what they are buying. Resolution I am seeking: Acknowledgement that the vehicle was sold with undisclosed accident damage and missing service history. A fair resolution or compensation for the lack of disclosure. #ConsumerRights #ConsumerAwareness

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the purchase of my vehicle from MMU Northcliff, on 06 December 2024, with the vehicle details as follows: VW Polo Vivo, 2015, VIN: AAVZZZ6SZFU033112 Unfortunately, upon taking possession of the vehicle, I discovered several significant issues that were not disclosed at the time of the sale: 1. The gearbox is malfunctioning, causing difficulty in shifting gears and affecting the overall drivability. 2. The aircon conditioning system is defective. 3. When I signed off the vehicle, it was R138, 955.00, but shockingly, the vehicle is inflated at the price of 231, 568.51, which does not reflect its true market value considering the condition. Despite my attempts to resolve these issues amicably with Zahir, Stephan and JJ, I have not received a satisfactory response or the vehicle being changed for another, and I am left with a vehicle that does not move and meet the expected standard or value. Furthermore, despite my multiple visit to your dealership and discussion with the manager since December, I was informed that “it is no longer my issue because the vehicle was sold by another sales agent (JJ, who is now fired), and I believe you have a responsibility to address these defects or provide a remedy.
