Moerat Events: Seamless Elegance from Nikkah to White Wedding of Safdar & Zayaan Birch By the Wedding Day Liaison, Berenice Geyer Moerat Events delivered an exceptional, end to end celebration for Safdar and Zeyaan, distinguished by immaculate planning, cultural sensitivity, and refined aesthetic direction. Under the capable management of Arief and the meticulous planning of Mikaeel, the team orchestrated a two part occasion—the Nikkah and the white wedding—that flowed with effortless precision. From the outset, Moerat’s coordination set a professional tone. Timelines were clear, stakeholder communication was prompt, and contingencies were anticipated and discretely resolved. As the wedding day liaison, I observed a calm, detail driven approach, arrivals were managed to the minute, and transitions between ceremonial moments and formal festivities were executed without disruption. Design and décor displayed a sophisticated balance of tradition and contemporary elegance. The Nikkah setting was thoughtfully composed—harmonious palettes and an intimate arrangement that honoured the significance of the ritual. The white wedding expanded that vision beautifully, elevating ambiance through layered lighting, polished tables and exquisite decor, and a cohesive design language that felt both luxurious and welcoming. Guest experience remained at the heart of Moerat’s deliver that has been evident from the first meeting with the couple until the last move on the dance floor. Wayfinding, hospitality touches, and pacing ensured attendees were comfortable and engaged throughout. Importantly, the team demonstrated nuanced cultural respect, aligning ceremonial protocols and family preferences with a keen eye for presentation and timing. Professionalism was present in every interaction. Arief’s leadership brought clarity and assurance, while Mikaeel’s planning discipline translated creative concepts into on the day excellence. Their synergy—supported by a courteous, well briefed crew—made the entire celebration feel remarkably effortless. Moerat Events exemplifies what couples seek in a premium-wedding partner: strategic planning, tasteful design, seamless execution, and genuine care. For multi event celebrations that must honour tradition while embracing modern elegance, Moerat proves to be a standout choice. To the entire Moerat Events team thank you for creating a wedding celebration that will be remembered for a very long time to come. Your dedication, artistry, and flawless execution turned a vision into reality and left an indelible mark on everyone who attended. ys ago New The worst part of my wedding was having it planned and catered for by this company. Firstly when we met with them we met with Reza, we chose a package and made a deposit payment and planned a mock table meeting, he stopped responding to texts or calls and I called the company and was told his on leave dealing with a family emergency and was told we can come meet with another person for the mock set up .When we went for the mock table, there was not mock set up and we had to go over everything with Shaheed AGAIN as well as send the proof of payment which was already previously shared (as though we’re ****s). We were tolerant and said nothing about it, a mock set up was confirmed again however this time when we went again, no mock set up either! And once again we had to meet with another person who was Junaid. We started from the beginning again and our invoice just kept increasing.we were promised we’d get pics of the mock set up which I kept asking for but never received. On the wedding day, the guests were more than the seating and they had to set up whilst our guests stood and watched. The harvest table that we paid for had none of the items we were told would be on it, there was literally 4 oranges which were sliced, some sliced apples, 5 bananas,2 blocks of cheese, one jar of jam and some sliced roll, that’s it! No biltongs, no anything else. We paid for juice to be served, not a drop of juice were served to our guests. We paid for fairy lights, my gosh only 4 strings were hung and one of them wasn’t working, the jumping castle we got for the kids also wasn’t working. Then the ditching of the food, it was a buffet but guess what? Our guests were told they can’t have more rice or meat when they asked. The coffee, milk, tea, sugar that we bought went missing, it was a lot that we bought and only 5 elderly guest had. When we enquired we were told that they don’t know what happened to it. I have messages and pictures if they’d like to dispute any of this. The owner promised to refund us and yet, radio silence. We made full payment waaaaayyy before the wedding and this treatment was just disgusting. They not even worth a star. Do yourself a favor and don’t use them

What a wonderful experience & great service received by Moerat Events! I was a part of the planning process as a Brides**** for my sister in laws wedding on the 3rd of August and was very impressed with how the wedding turned out. A special thanks to Areef for bringing Savannah's vision to life & seeing to all the little details! The food was delicious and we especially loved that the team was hands on throughout the process & evening. Savannah's wedding was truly magical and everything she dreamt it would be. Highly recommend!

What was supposed to be my most memorable and beautiful day ever, turned into the most ********** day of my life. I am so gut wrenched at the service rendered by Moerat events. When I had to make a decision about which caterers and events company to use, Moerat events were recommended. I attended a wedding at Klein Nederburg where I first hand saw you guys in action and based on what you guys could deliver with a "Standard package", my decision was easy to make to ensure that I purchase the Premium package. What I experienced and received on Saturday, was far from the "Premium package" I envisioned. In fact, it seemed more standard than premium. The following occurred: 1. Ceremony - An essential part of our ceremony should have occurred around a candle ceremony that should've taken place. - Ashraf forgot it. 2. Reception - Table seating chart were miles apart from what we requested. In fact, an old cardboard was used and it was clearly visible. What an eyesore to walk into😔. - We were charged a R2000 for a white dancefloor with the printing of our initials. That was not delivered at all. Only the initials was printed on what seems to be a small piece of white plastic and addes to the top of the venues dancefloor. The dancefloor of the venue was used which we paid for as part of the use of the Venue. - The tables seemed under decored than what I anticipated. The napkins used were far from the napkins wanted. The runners were absolutely not the requested dusty blue runners that we wanted. - No table menu was placed as paid for in the Premium package. - The Bottled water that was part of the package was not even on the tables. When I asked Ashraf about it, he ensured me that he will "bring it now". 15 to 20 minutes later the water arrived. He wasn't honest in admitting that he simply forgot the water. I had to request for juices to be served, and this as well felt like an eternity to be served. - I requested an envelope box from Ashraf, this was also forgotten. - I requested a knife for cutting the cake ( This was also not delivered) - Canapés was amazing and was the 🌟 star of the day. Starters: This was the most embarrassing to serve to my guest. FAR from what we requested. A truly poor attempt from the caterers of Moerat. The prawns were not even deveined and cut open (Basic rules of serving Butterf**** prawns) - The presentation was a disgrace and let's not even speak on the flavours 🤦🏽♀️ - Main meals: The creamy vegetables was extremely crispy and undercooked (most complained about item) - Chicken Korma was split when the cream was added and no attempt was done to correct this. Totally unacceptable ( this we will know - my sister is an executive chef) - I was truly ashamed to serve it to my guests. - Ashraf promised that the main table will have their own mini buffet (this also did not happen) Coffee bar - We provided more than enough items for the coffe bar, from Jacobs Kronung coffee(Biggest pot) to tea. Boxes of milk and 2.5 kg sugar. - This was not given back, in fact it was communicated that the coffee was "finished" - while only a few guests drank hot beverages. - Dessert: This was delicious, presentation was just extremely poor. Overall I am deeply disappointed in the services that were rendered from the Moerat team to myself and my husband. It truly feels that the people that gets the best services are the ones that are influencers and celebrities. My dream wedding was not treated with grace and elegance. And for this I am truly heartbroken😭😔 When I informed the owner on what happened, he blatantly ignored my pleas and up until today did not bother to reach out to me or apologize in any way. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

I would NEVER recommend this company. It was an absolute disaster. The parties involved and the Director, Areef, ruined my wedding day. Wilted flowers, incorrect colours, incorrect decor, missing decor, the works. It was extremely disappointing after being so excited by the hype created by their social media and previous work, and the reviews from social media influencers. Prior to the wedding, there was no communication from the coordinator despite numerous attempts to get into contact with them. No responses when we had to enquire when we could pick up the bouquet on the day of the wedding. After we eventually got hold of them, on the day of, they promised they'd be at the store in 5minutes which lasted for nearly an hour - and inevitably delayed my nikkah! My family and guests had to rearrange the tables as Moerat Events used the incorrect plans despite having met with the coordinator in the week of the wedding to finalize the seating arrangements. No table numbers were even on the tables, and when we received them, they were printed cardboard pieces of paper (not the gold and acrylic ones we PAID for). The coordinator had the nerve to simply hand them to my family, who had to place them on the tables themselves, all while the coordinator did absolutely nothing to assist. There were NO Moerat Events employees even present on the day of the wedding. The Burgundy couch that we ordered for the wedding day, ended up being an hour late to the hall, filthy and WHITE! The vases, candle holders, cutlery, underplates that I had PAID for, were not at the venue but instead replaced by dirty, scratched up silverware, dusty serving jugs and the cherry on top- my husband didn't even have a single glass on his side of the table! And later I had to find out that one of my guests had to give their glasses to my side of the table!! The audacity. The flowers - which were meant to be a blush pink colour - and which Moerat Events promised they could deliver - were white, wilted, browning, and not even close to the style of arrangements that we had requested - as it had been poorly arranged with large gaps between the flowers. I was disgusted to be lied to by Moerat Events employees that the set up had been done at 8am that morning, but the flowers were already wilted at 9am?! All the additional decor that I had requested and paid for were simply not at the venue. The bouquet I had paid for was meant to be a cascading bouquet of pinks, greens and burgundy yet I received a tiny 20cm bouquet of wilted white roses. It was absolutely disgusting and incompetent service from all involved. This is all without mentioning that at least 2 to 3 of my tables did not have a tablecloth on it... There were dirty serving jugs that my guests had to wash before the event could even start, the cutlery was in the same condition - and not the gold cutlery which we had ordered but stained, scratched up and dirty silver cutlery. It was absolutely filthy and disgusting on their part. I had ordered wooden crates, candles and vases all for my entrance yet there were none present. The underplates we had ordered - which were meant to be woven and gold material - were replaced without our prior knowledge nor consent - with dirty glass underplates. I had ordered 9x candle holders for each table, yet on the day of, only 3x were placed on the table. The 3x vases for the flower arrangements that were meant for each table, were replaced (again without our knowledge nor consent) with long, ugly frosted and unfrosted vases - which were totally disproportionate to the design and layout and made the table design look cheap and half-done. There is so much more to mention that went wrong but it would simply take too much time to type out. We have had many issues with this company and it's incompetent management and employees. From scheduled meetings that were arranged (and that we drove from Cape Town to Paarl to attend) were the employees simply "forgot" or times they tried to reschedule as we were outside their stores, or when they simply wouldn't pick to meetings they arranged with us, to even asking us to meet them at a venue where they set up another wedding on the outskirts of Paarl (after they ruined ours!) We had to drive through farms and dirt roads in order to accommodate them to meetings they do not even pitch to!! We have tried to resolve this matter privately, yet they constantly give us the go-around. It has been 42 days since our initial complaint. In the first week we were given empty promises, lies and eventually no results. When we decided to escalate the matter, we received a response from a Mr Reza Ismail, who ended up wasting our time, insulting us, and delivered absolutely no response despite promising to do so about 4 weeks ago! We have now decided to go the legal route and expect a response. We hope this does not need to go to court but we will not give them the benefit of the doubt anymore. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY AND DELIVER NONE OF WHAT THEY PROMISE, NOR WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Don't be fooled by the good reviews and social media. They are horrible to work with. If I could give no stars, I would.

I would like to express my unhappiness with regard to this company. Moerat Events hosted my daughters wedding and I had several meetings with them to tell them how I expected things. They assured me that they would adhere to these requests. I provided them with 2 cokes, appletisers, water, juice. I also provided them with 5 kgs of cashews, mebos and whispers for the table. I also provided them with 18 watermelons, 3 boxes of g****s, pineapples and sweetmelon because I wanted them to re-fill the tables. At the event, they did not re-fill the tables and they only placed 1 of the assorted cooldrinks on the tables. The fish was nice but it was very thin pieces. My guests complained about hard veg and there not being enough rice. I also provided them with coffee, tea, sugar and 12 boxes of milk. At the end of the evening when I asked for the left overs to be returned as per our agreement, they told me their is nothing left which I couldn't believe. I really don't know how caterers can be so dishonest and I now feel extremely cheated. I have been given a raw deal. Please everyone, be warned, they are running a scam and they are either using our stuff to fund their next function or to keep their drug rehab facility running. If they approached me to ask for the left overs, I would not have hesitated to give but do not just take. That in my view is stealing.
