Neil Govender Attorneys Inc
Based on recent customer reviews, Neil Govender Attorneys Inc receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from third-party claimants whose claims are handled on behalf of FNB Insurance. Customers consistently report months-long delays with claims stuck in perpetual "validation" without clear timelines or explanations. Communication is a critical failure point, with emails going unanswered, phone lines reportedly unreachable, and updates only provided when claimants escalate aggressively. Several reviewers describe lowball settlement offers and a perceived strategy of delay designed to frustrate claimants into giving up. The financial and personal toll on affected individuals is a recurring concern.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service received from Neil Govender Attorneys in handling my matter. RMO35394 // MAT25357 This claim has been ongoing since November 2025, and despite numerous follow-ups, I have not received clear or direct answers to simple and important questions. The only feedback consistently provided is that the matter is “awaiting approval,” with no indication of: • Where the approval is currently pending • How long the process is expected to take • Whether there are any outstanding issues causing delays Despite repeated emails and escalation attempts, my queries remain unanswered, and communication has been extremely limited and unhelpful. What is most concerning is the lack of transparency and accountability. As a client, I should not have to continuously follow up just to receive basic information. At this stage, the issue is not only the delay but the poor communication and lack of responsiveness, which has made an already stressful process even more frustrating. I would strongly encourage improvement in communication and client engagement going forward.

I am writing to raise a complaint regarding the unacceptable delays in my third-party claim being handled by First National Bank and Neil Govender Attorneys. The accident took place in December, and all required documents were submitted in January. Since then, I have consistently been advised that the claim is “still being validated.” No further explanation, progress report, or estimated timeline has been provided. It is concerning that several months later, there is still no clarity or outcome. We already experienced delays while waiting for FNB to submit the third-party claim to the relevant parties, and now there appears to be no sense of urgency in finalising the validation process. I respectfully request: A detailed update on the current status Confirmation of whether the claim has been submitted to the third party An explanation for the prolonged validation period A clear timeframe for resolution The continued lack of feedback is unacceptable, and I trust that this matter will now receive the urgent attention it requires.

I am an FNB third-party insurance policyholder (claim no. RMO40202). After my husband reversed into a third party’s vehicle, the claimant was directed to contact your firm at enquiries@ngov-attorneys.co.za to process his claim. The claimant emailed your offices over two weeks ago with all relevant details. To date, he has received no response whatsoever — not even an acknowledgement of receipt. The claimant had initially tried to claim through his own insurer but was expected to pay a R5 500 excess for an incident that was not his fault. He followed the correct channels by contacting your firm as directed. Your silence has left him without recourse and has placed me in an embarrassing position. I have since sent your firm a formal letter of complaint. As legal professionals appointed to handle insurance claims, the very least one would expect is a timely acknowledgement of correspondence. I urge anyone dealing with Neil Govender Attorneys on an FNB insurance matter to document everything meticulously.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the handling of my third-party motor vehicle claim (Claim Numbers: RMO35394 / MAT25357) by Neil Govender Attorneys. I have been dealing with Kudzai Matsika, and despite repeated attempts to get feedback, the claim has seen no meaningful progress. Here is a summary of actions taken and responses: The claim was submitted on 18 November 2025. I have followed up multiple times via email and phone calls, but have only received generic responses, referring vaguely to “validation” or outstanding documentation. I contacted Ruby from FNB Insurance, but she was unable to assist directly. I also CC’d Ruby’s team leader and another colleague. The team leader responded advising the matter was out of his mandate, but confirmed Ruby could assist. Ruby subsequently emailed Kudzai requesting telephonic feedback, yet the response received was still a generic email stating the claim is “still validating”, with no real update on progress or timeframe. Nearly 60 days have passed with no substantive feedback, clear status update, or realistic timeline for finalisation. Calls remain unanswered, emails are ignored, and no clarity has been provided on what is outstanding or what steps are being taken. This ongoing delay, lack of accountability, and absence of communication is completely unacceptable, especially considering the financial and personal impact of a delayed third-party claim. I am posting this publicly in the hope that the matter will now receive the urgent attention it requires.

Oh my word. My son is claiming from the 3rd party and Neil Govender Attorneys Inc, (if they are real attorneys), is dealing with the matter. They, absolutely, don't communicate with you. They just don't do anything. What can we do to report them further. Can we report them to higher authorities? This is not on. Claim no: MAT22917 // RMO20273

I am highly disappointed in the way Neil Govender Attorneys have handled my third-party claim on behalf of FNB (Ref: RMO19199 / MAT23106). It has been over 3 months since I submitted all the required documents, yet there has been no meaningful progress. Every time I follow up, I’m told the claim is “still being validated” with no clear explanation or timelines. In fact, communication has been extremely poor – I am often left in the dark, with no updates or feedback unless I chase after them. Meanwhile, my car is still damaged and unusable for Uber, which is my main source of income. I have now been out of work for over 3 months, and this delay is directly impacting my livelihood. As attorneys appointed to process this matter, I expected professionalism, urgency, and accountability. Instead, the lack of action and avoidance has caused nothing but stress and financial loss. This level of service is completely unacceptable, and I will continue to escalate this issue until it is resolved.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 Star - If zero was an option, I would use it) Company Reviewed: Neil Govender Attorney's (Appointed by FNB for Third-Party Claims) Reviewed By: Mthetho Date of Experience: May 2024 - Ongoing I am writing this review to warn anyone who might have the misfortune of dealing with Neil Govender Attorneys, particularly their representative, Ms. Shaylin Padayachee. This firm is appointed by FNB to handle their third-party insurance claims, and my experience has been nothing short of disgraceful. Timeline of Failure: · 21 May 2024: I was involved in an accident where an FNB customer drove into my car from his yard. · May-June 2024: I was referred to Neil Govender Attorneys. I promptly provided Ms. Padayachee with every single document, photo, and piece of information she requested within days of the initial request. · By July 2024: They had confirmed they possessed everything they needed to process my claim. · from August 2024- Mid-August 2025: For over a year, I sent numerous emails seeking a simple update or resolution. My communications were met with silence, delays, and generic non-responses. · Mid-August 2025: The only time I received any proper engagement was when I began copying their client, FNB, on my emails. Ms. Padayachee then had the audacity to request that I stop including FNB, a demand I rightly ignored. · 19 August 2025, After months of waiting, I received a settlement offer letter from Ms. Padayachee (conveniently sent without FNB copied). The offer was an insulting R11,000 for a vehicle with a market value exceeding R90,000. The letter provided no justification, no assessment report, and no explanation for this derisory figure. The documents attached to this offer were dated July 2024, proving this claim could and should have been resolved over a year ago. This is not just poor service; it is a calculated strategy of delay and obfuscation in the hope that claimants will give up or accept a lowball offer. A quick look at other online reviews shows this is their standard, shameful mode of operation for third-party claims. As a long-standing FNB customer, I am utterly disappointed that my bank would partner with such an ************ and unprofessional firm. It reflects terribly on FNB's values and their duty of care, not just to their own clients, but to the members of the public those clients injure or damage. Once this matter is finally resolved, I will be closing my Aspire account and cancelling my FNB credit card. It is sad to leave a bank I've been with for years, but I cannot in good conscience continue to support a institution that enables this kind of behaviour. I would not recommend Neil Govender Attorneys to my worst enemy. They are ***********, uncommunicative, and operate in bad faith. FNB, you need to seriously reconsider this partnership.

Neil Govender attorneys and FNB are the worst Combination, whose ******* relationship has affected a lot of people as indicated by the number of reviews from the many different people who have had an accident with any FNB Insurance client. It would be even unfair to blame one and leave the other. FNB (Ruby and Puleng) are very much aware of what is going on. I had a motor accident with FNB client on the 23rd of January 2025, with the matter reported to the police on the same day and a case number generated. On the 4th of February 2025, I sent all the documents which had been requested by the FNB's Third Party attorney (Lineker Mirriam of Neil Governder attorneys) to which i received an email from his on the 5th of February confirming receipt of the documents and assuring me that all my documents were in order. On the same email i was informed that the process of validation and assessment would take a maximum of 90 days to finalise. I waited for the 90 working days period to finish, hen contacted Lineker, who informed me that an an assessor had been appointed to do physical assessment on the car. The assessor visited on the 23rd of May 2025 and sent his assessment report to Neil Gorvender attorneys on the 26th of May 2025. I later got a an email from Lineker (Neil Gorvender attorneys) confirming and updated me that they had received the assessor's report and the file had been sent to management for signing. Its been 40 days now with the file still with the management awaiting signing and 6 full months since the accident happened. I have neither received compensation nor have I receive even the offer. It is really unfortunate that FNB being one of the leading brands would associate themselves and choose to use the services of an organisation like Neil Govender attorneys, unless offcourse they (FNB) are the ones giving instructions to this law firm to frustrate accident victims.
