I ordered a JVC Freezer from Take-alot - they delivered it and once opened it didn't work. It keeps giving a EC code and does not freeze.I tried contacting take-alot but was diverted to Nu World.Nu World's returns department does not answer. I also contacted JVC as a last resort but they didn't even know they make freezers (hand in front of face). Be that as it may, I paid take-alot and now i must struggle getting any kind of relief from either party. This is disgusting. How is it possible for such huge businesses to just do as they please.

I bought a Goldair Remote Control fan from Builders Warehouse around Sept 2024 and used it until winter 2025 with no problems. I stored it for the winter months and around Sept/Oct 2025 I took it out of storage to start using it again. The fan switched on when I put it in the wall plug, made a beep and stopped working. I could not get anyone to test or repair the fan for me so I bought another one. On November 11, 2025 I sent a mail to Nuworld to ask if I can purchase a pc board separately and just have that replace - my mail was sent to their queries department. I received a response from Brian Van Der Westhuizen, asking where I bought the fan and I then promptly sent my reply. I received no feedback from Brian after the original correspondence after this. By the 17th of Dec I made telephonic contact with the Brian again asking for some feedback (between 11th of Nov and 17th of Dec I also sent 2 mails asking for feedback with no response. While speaking to him on the phone he searched and found my mails to him to which he rep**** and cc'ed a colleague (Wesley Nhlapo) in on, asking the Wesley to send me the unit asap as the whole matter was at that stage delayed by a whole month. Since the 17th of Dec up to today no feed back AGAIN. On the 14th of Jan (this week) I phone Nuworld again and requested to speak to Brian again. He was still on leave and I then asked to speak to Wesley who was not at his desk at that time. I then sent a mail again to both and followed my mail up with a phonecall to Wesley Nhlapo. I requested this Wesley to please reply to my earlier mail so that I know that he received my detail for the delivery for the part. Again. No communication or feedback from Wesley. I phoned this morning and spoke to Brian again who promised me that he is walking over to Wesley to have the issue sorted out immediately - I told him that Wesley needs to contact me as my delivery address have changed because I also have returned from leave and my home address will no longer work for delivery. Its mid day already and no feedback YET AGAIN.

I’m not happy with the service I have from Nuworld I have call on Monday regarding the tv telefunken that I bought from Takealot on the 3November 2025 on the 10january2026 when I come from work trying to switch on the tv screen it was black and no sound I have call on Monday the lady from the call centre said I must send the email but I didn’t get the response or ref no until today so I want to know what must I do with the tv that I have used it for less than 3months now is not working and no1 is assisting me the invoice no 229128399 (Telefunken 50” TLDD-50FHDC FULL HD Android Smart TV)

I logged a refund while ago I was told to go and drop TV to Ralph in Strand and they email back to me to collect the TV back because they don't deal with returns it's only takealot who deals with it and now I'm stuck with the TV at home I don't know where to take it or deal with it and I need the money back to buy another TV it's been two full months going back and forth, it's very hard to do return but when you buy its easy and it's frustrating and exhausting making calls all day with no pick up. And when I called Nu World they told me they don't deal with customers directly and they gave me an email address and I think it was takealot@nuworld.com and they rep**** by asking proof of purchase I sent it to them until this day they never rep**** whether they will collect the TV or where must I dropp it I am very dissapointed with both nu World and takealot with their service

Dear Nuworld Customer Service, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a Quartz Heater (Model No. GHQ-100G) that I purchased, which has not worked properly for the first four months. Despite repeated attempts to seek support under the product's guarantee, my experience with your customer service team has been extremely disappointing. Every time I have called your office, I have been transferred from one department to another without receiving any concrete assistance. This unhelpful and frustrating process has left me with no resolution, and I am still in possession of a defective product. Frankly, this heater has turned out to be the worst purchase I have ever made, both in terms of product performance and after-sales support. I expected much better from a company like Nuworld. I request that you take immediate action to either repair or replace the heater under the terms of your warranty. Please confirm receipt of this email and advise on the next steps for resolving this issue.

I purchased a 2-plate SUNBEAM induction cooker. The unit generates way too much power, even on the lowest setting. I'm an electronics engineer and have proofed to them it generates about 8x the power it should on the low setting (400W vs 50W). This is despite the user manual claiming one can use the low setting for simmering, keep warm and even melt chocolate. I get no response. Typical of companies who import cheap products from China. I know for a fact, this is a simple firmware fault. They claim I'm the first person complaining about this. Maybe I'm the first person to try and keep a sauce warm???

Goldair products have no parts available. and they cannot help in anyway. So when you buy a stove and your oven switch is faulty, you have to buy another stove!!

JVC TV's are the worst TV brand there is. This is a pathetic brand and I will not even pay R1 to own a JVC TV ever in my life. You will get more value for money if you buy a chappie for R1. Compatibility issues, apps not working, screen mirroring not working, poor internet browsing, nothing works! Most of the popular apps don't work and if they work, it is very slow and freezes often. The user experience is terrible. I bought a Vulkano soundbar, it can connect to my Samsung TV, a LG TV and Hisense TV but not on my JVC TV. My TV is not old but they say this TV is not compatible as they are not in control of 3rd party apps. My Samsung TV is older than my JVC TV, but everything works on my Samsung TV, so why not on my JVC TV? They are basically saying, every time a app is upgraded (showmax, DSTV NOW, Netflix, Youtube etc) you will have to buy a new TV as the TV will not be compatible anymore and they blame someone else. I would have expected them to ensure their TVs remains compatible with the upgrades of such apps. What is a Smart TV if it cannot access any apps. JVC is distributed in South Africa by NU-WORLD INDUSTRIES (PTY) LTD, and they do not give a @#$% about customers and ignore customers who experience problems. In my opinion they are a mickey mouse company and cannot be trusted. Just search JVC on Hello Peter and see all the complaints on their TV's and their service offered. Be very careful if you consider to buy a JVC TV. I will stay far away from this pathetic brand.
