On 2 Dec 2019 I received a garmin watch which I had bought on line from Olympic Cycles who have premises in Cape Town.
On the day it arrived, it was worn for no more than 10 minutes and without good reason the watch strap broke. I immediately brought this to the attention of Olympic Cycles and started communicating with Mr Lee Canham. After considering my options, it was agreed that it be returned for a full refund. Olympic Cycles uses Dawn Wing as their courier and Dawn Wing was requested by Olympic Cycles on the 10th of Dec to collect. Eventually Dawn Wing collected the watch however Olympic Cycles have still not refunded me the purchase price of the watch and the delivery fee despite there being no fewer than 30 emails back and forth between Mr Canham and I. Mr Canham no longer appears to be responding, leaving me with no alternative but to escalate the matter.
The purpose of this complaint is to forewarn prospective clients that they might be tempted to buy from Olympic Cycles and if they do, they might also receive appalling service and they might also find it challenging to obtain a legitimate refund. When dealing with such companies, best to practice the “Buyer Beware” philosophy.
