My experience with Omar’s Auto City was extremely disappointing and concerning. The dealership informed us that our credit score was too low and that we did not qualify for vehicle finance. However, when we contacted the bank directly, the bank confirmed that we did qualify. Despite this, the dealership pushed an alternative arrangement, saying they would help us get a temporary car to drive for three months and then reapply for proper finance — on condition that we paid additional money directly into their account over those three months, on top of the monthly installments and insurance. This already felt questionable. The vehicle they gave us turned out to have serious undisclosed issues. We later discovered that the car had been involved in an accident and had been taken to a panel beater for a respray despite saying the car will be ready within two days which was only given to me 8 days later at the panel beater shop. The odometer had been tampered with, the car had no spare wheel and no floor mats, and the kilometres on the dashboard did not match the service book. To make matters worse, the contract itself contained false information, as the kilometres stated in the contract did not match either the dashboard or the service history. When i confronted the dealership about these discrepancies, I was told it was a “typing error” and they had nothing to do with what was written in the service book they received the car as is. I was then told that if I did not want the car, I would need to pay a cancellation fee, despite the misrepresentation and serious issues with the vehicle. This experience showed a complete lack of transparency, honesty, and ethical conduct. I would strongly advise potential customers to be extremely careful, independently verify all information, and not rely solely on what is said by the dealership.

I really cannot get over how much this dealership negatively affected my finances through the owner's lies. They don't place car prices on windscreens because prices, at least mine, are determined by how much they can lie to you for more money. If they displayed the prices, then customers will not enter their dealership. They don't check your credit score and if you have a good one, they'll tell you they phoned the Bank and the bank determined high interest rates for you so that they can basically charge you an arm and a leg. They actually decide on their own what interest rate they will charge you for any car you buy from them. They charged me high interest and after I called the Bank, they had to pay the Bank back mainly for lying. If they tell you to rent the car for 6 months, please ensure that there is a 6 month contract to back this rental period and be there when they call the Bank for enquiries of your credit score.

Omars auto City in Meyerton ; I recently did a trade in and was advised that the trade in vehicle will be settled within the 1st week of April. And was also messed around with getting the disk. The permit expired on the 7th April and I only got the disk on the 17th April. I had to make numerous calls and send messages and was advised that it will be sorted. They also only settled the car on the 17th April. Which resulted in me being debited for two vehicles. I was advised that when I took the deal they would offer a 1k assistance every month or pay the 12k per year once off for the next two years. No one has since responded to my request for the proof and for the contract that I requested. This service is unacceptable , and very appauling for a business to be giving such service to their clients. With little to no communication. Today I was advised that there is no one else to assist me.

I have purchased 5 cars through Omars Auto City over the past few years - A Kia Sorrento, BMW X3, VW transporter, Range Rover Velar and a Mercedes AMG 350d Coupé. I have always received the best service and been helped with friendly and fast service. I love the fact that it's quick, easy and seamless every time. They do all the work and I have no fuss. Thanks Omar Auto City for always providing me with reliable transport to get me wherever I need to go!

This is the worst dealership that could exist. The owner will lie to you so much. I followed the process and registered to take the dealership to court through support from SAPS. I reported the dealership to the Ombudsman. I also reported the dealership to the financial institution that assisted with the financing of the vehicle. I bought a cheaper vehicle from the dealership, they reported to the Bank that I had bought a more expensive vehicle and thus I had to pay more. Conclusions on the dealerships lies only took place almost a year later. I will never purchase or have agreements with this dealership.
