Worst food experience ever!
My family and I had lunch at Pearly's, and we were extremely disappointed with both the food and the service. We ordered the calamari and chips, which was listed as a main meal, but the portion size looked like a starter. When I raised this with the waiter, she said she would check. The manager, Eugene, later informed us that the portion was correct, and gave us the same plate back after we asked if the plate was fixed. The table behind us have received more calamari than our plate.
To make matters worse, my wife’s mashed potatoes were served cold. Instead of replacing the dish, the manager offered to warm it in the microwave. That’s unacceptable—cold food should be replaced, not reheated.
We also ordered a side plate of donut onion rings, but they were drenched in oil. There was so much excess oil pooled at the bottom of the bowl, it was clear they hadn’t bothered to drain them properly. It was unappetizing and disappointing.
Pearly's used to be the go-to restaurant in Langebaan, but clearly, as soon as the place gets busy, service and food quality go out the window. This was the worst service I’ve ever received, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We will not be returning.
