We hired Perfect Slate in January 2018 to do extensive roof repairs across our entire roof and paid them handsomely. By October 2018 when the rainy season began, it was apparent that the roof was still leaking at the very areas that led us to undertake the repair work in the first place. It subsequently became a pattern that at least twice a year whenever it rained extensively, we notice more and more leaks - inform Perfect Slate, they bring a guy or two - do a patch job or make as though they are rectifying the problem and then a few weeks later - the leakage begins again. It was apparent this past weekend (31 Oct 2020) that there are more leaks in the roof than before Perfect Slate supposedly 'repaired' it. So they have achieved something unexpected which is to damage our roof even further. The owner and project managers have no interest in the work of their labours, they do not check or inspect it and leave home-owners micro-managing work in respect of which home-owners are not experts. They are wholly incompetent and unprofessional. Anyone who values their home or hard-earned money: DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR PERFECT SLATE. THEY ARE NOT EXPERTS IN CONSTRUCTION. THEY ARE FRAUDSTERS!

Bambo the owner of Perfect Slate is one unreliable person who is quick to chow your money. Once he took money from you and doing a very poor job forget about seeing him again. He does not even answer his phone. He blocked my calls. He is very good is taking your money, very good in making empty promises. FREE ADVISE. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH PERFECT SLATE.

1. Since 2018.09.20 the MD of Perfect Slate cc (PS) until 2019.05.23 has visited the site on 3 occasions at my request to view the bad workmanship of PS's so-called repair teams ...last PS "repair team" visit being on 2019.04.13 (being a Saturday). 2. On PS's MD's visit on 05/23 he identified as electronically recorded the following main aspects: 2.1. One area marked out by himself on his first visit to which no repair work had been done at all. 2.2. An 8m ridging repair quoted for but of which only 6 m had been done. 2.3 No broken tiles ( 100 "contracted for") had neither been replaced nor even delivered on site. 3. PS's MD was shown other areas of bad workmanship and proof of visibly deliberate damage of imported Canadian pine brandering. 4. Substantial consequential damage has occurred to ceilings at areas referred to in paras 2.1 and 2.2 above....him promising refunding the cost of replacement of the ceilings (already replaced..photos of the damage/collapsed ceilings were shown and given to him). 5. Since the MD's visit on 05/23 and despite all his promised follow-up actions NOT A SINGLE ONE HAS MATERIALISED! 6. From 2018.09.20 till 2019.05.39 Perfect Slate cc 's repair teams DID NOT ARRIVE on 12 out of 18 scheduled visits to repair site. SO MUCH FOR THE ADVERTISED PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT AND REPAIR SERVICE OF PERFECT SLATE cc. More details are documented.

In 2013 Perfect Slate painted the roof of my mom's house. It looked great after they did it, BUT has faded at a rapid rate to an extreme extend that we contacted the company beginning of this year. Gift from Perfect Slate came to inspect the roof and agreed that it should not have faded the way it has and agreed that it needs to be repainted free of charge as part of their guarantee. Unfortunately since then, they keep saying that they will come and redo the work, make appointments to repaint the roof but never pitch. Then when we contact them they promise that they will come by making a new appointment but yet still no action. So many appointments yet not one honoured nor even a phone call to inform if there is a problem and to reschedule. The CEO Bambo Shongwe was also contacted and fully aware of the situation and also said that it will be sorted.... Still this has not been addressed even after all the promises. DISAPPOINTING

Its not often that people come to hellopeter to write good reviews, and based on reviews alone, i would never have used this company, but i want to change that perception, we took a gamble, and was very pleasantly suprised I just want to thank Perfect slate for the fantastic service! quick, professional work and very reasonable pricing, Our roof look absolutely fantastic, and the team done it in 1 day. Thank You!!

We had used Perfect Slate in 2015 and were very happy with their work. Unfortunately something has changed as they are no longer the same professional outfit. In March 2017 we again employed the services of Perfect Slate to do repairs to our roof and ceilings (water damage due to loose roof tiles). The quote was "padded" with unneccesary items which I only became aware of when the actual team arrived to do the work (I work from home). They quoted for scaffolding at R2500 but used a long ladder, quoted for 50 new tiles but in fact only replaced 5. There was never any supervisor to oversee the project - I ended up having to supervise the work myself - and on the last day I had to instruct the team to go back onto the roof to move several loose tiles that I could see from looking up at the roof. When I expressed concern that they may not have fixed all the loose tiles, they said to wait for the rain and see whether there were still any leaks! The worst part of all was that the paint they used had the most toxic smell I have ever experienced and continued to gas off horrible strong plastic smelling fumes for another month. There is still a faint smell - not the usual fresh paint smell- , so not sure that it will ever go away completely, After asking them numerous times to come back with a paint expert to seal the paint with something, they still have not done so. Instead they just keep sending emails asking for the last outstanding payment. I would strongly advise anyone dealing with Perfect Slate to carefully check your invoice to make sure the actual work was carried out, - I would also insist on seeing and smelling the paint that they plan on using,
