Went to PRIMI at the V&A Waterfront, placed an order on January 1, 2026 at 19:26 - myself and partner order 2 recco pastas with linguine noodles - one chicken and one prawn. The waiter that assisted us told us it would take 15-20 minutes. We roamed around and eventually returned after 20 minutes and the food was still not done. Waited another 20 minutes of which we did not have, and received our food at 20:14. Seeing that we waiting for almost an hour for our food, once we arrived at home and wanted to eat, to our surprise we did not receive the food we ordered. We paid R325 for these two pastas, we received 1 recco with absolutely no protein (no prawn or chicken at all) and an additional spaghetti pasta with no protein as well. I find this unacceptable as you pay a lot of money for the food and you’re expected to wait and be patient then to only receive the completely wrong order. I’ve tried calling them via their number available on the website but the phone goes straight to voicemail. Unacceptable service.

Worst experience ever!! PRIMI CANAL WALK. Food had hair in !!! Our order got mixed up 3 times !!! We went on our team building , we were 5 , we ordered linguine that got mixed up 3 damn times with penne. Food had hair in!!! When the manager came , he offered us cake on the house, once the cake came . We received 2 OLD dried out STALE slices of cake that we need to share among 5 people. Damn pathetic !!! NEVER AGAIN !!!

I was Primi Melrose arch on Friday for the opening. I just wanna highlight the exceptional customer service from Top management to staff, delicious food and fresh ****tails. Keep up to the great work.👍

What a terrible experience on Father's Day. We were waiting at the front entrance for about 15 minutes (empty restaurant) eventually we had to wave and flag down someone who could attend to us and seat us. The drinks order took about 20 minutes (we were 4 people) and there were only 2 other people seated in the restaurant. The waiter/manager did not smile, was not friendly and eventually took our food orders, which took exceptionally long. I went to another store to have a watch strap replaced, and when I came back, our food had still not arrived. Eventually it did, and it was really so disappointing. The quality and quantity of the food have gone down the drain. What used to be one of the best places to eat at, sadly now won't see us again anytime soon. Not once did the waiter come and check on us, we had to flag down someone to bring us serviettes, we wanted more soft drinks but no one came to our table... eventually we asked for the bill but were ignored for a further 10 minutes... until we asked for it again. Yes, I did give a gracious tip, but they won't see us again for sure. No friendly staff, everyone standing and chatting amongst themselves.... what happened to the Primi we used to love so much??

I am utterly disgusted by the service I received during my recent visit to your restaurant. I ordered a pasta dish, and when the food was served, I was appalled to see that the server’s long nails were actually in my food. Her nails were extremely long and clearly made contact with the food, which is absolutely unhygienic and unacceptable in any dining establishment. I immediately refused the dish and cancelled my order, as I was completely put off by the situation. It is disturbing that a food establishment would allow staff with excessively long nails to serve customers, given the obvious health and hygiene risks. Additionally, I found it highly inappropriate that waitstaff were reaching over our table and handling items while we were still eating, further compromising the dining experience and hygiene. After what I witnessed, I will never return to the Primi at the Waterfront. It is shocking that management permits such poor standards of hygiene and service. This experience left me feeling disgusted and extremely disappointed. I hope serious attention will be given to the hygiene practices at your restaurant to prevent other customers from having a similar experience.

My colleagues and I ordered pasta for lunch from Primi constantia (on Uber). Our chicken was off and when I complained the manager had attitude. He told me he ate it himself and it was fine. Says he’s been serving pastas since they opened (had only been open for 2 hours) and had no complaints. Basically told me they have no way of verifying it is off so I am lying. I am so disgusted with this service and his sarcastic attitude. I have no reason to lie. I’ve been a loyal primi customer for 15 years and I’ve been eating the Recco for this long so I KNOW how it’s supposed to taste. Very disappointed and would not recommend this branch to anyone! No apology just attitude. And now I am bearing the brunt and literally have poisoning from this!!
