I booked into the Commodore Hotel while on business in Cape Town. I checked out on Wednesday 12th November after staying there for three nights. Two days after checking out I realised that I had left a brand new pair of jeans in the closet at the hotel. I called the hotel and was put through to lost and found. The guy I spoke to just told me immediately that they never saw my jeans. What was even more disgusting is the fact that there was absolutely no effort made to check with the cleaning staff. The hotel simply refused to be accountable. I will never use that hotel again - REALLY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR.
I have 3 cars insured with Discovery and pay a significant amount of money to them every month. On 28th March, I took one two of cars cars I had signed up for insurance with Discovery for inspection at Tiger Wheel & Tyre in Pinetown. Upon inspection, the guy doing the inspection (Sean) told me that the rear tyres of my Mercedes were worn out and needed to be changed which I said he could proceed with. He also mentioned that one of my front tyres for the NP200 was worn out but recommended replacing 2 tyres and rotating them. They did that and I paid for the service and the inspection. I went home after that and on Friday I did not use the car as I spent the day at home on Good Friday. I used the NP200 on Saturday to go to Gateway Mall to collect a suit and drove back home. When I got home I realized that my rear bumper had melted. Upon investigation I realized that at Tiger Wheel & Tyre they had moved the exhaust pipe and left it lifted such that it was blowing right onto the bumper which caused the melting. I did not use the car for the rest of the Easter weekend and took it to Tiger Wheel & Tyre on the Tuesday (2nd April). Tiger Wheel & Tyre refused to accept responsibility for what they had done. I requested to talk to the manager (Jacque). I explained to him what happened and he indicated that he would talk to the regional manager and get back to me. He sent me a Whatsapp message a week later saying they were not responsible for the damage to my car. I informed Discovery who logged a claim and asked me to take the car for assessment. The assessment report indicated that the cost of repairing the car was less than my excess and Discovery informed me that they had closed the claim. Upon contacting the repairer on the assessment report (Durban Central Panel Beaters), I was told that they could not repair the at the cost indicated on the assessment report unless Discovery authorizes the repair which Discovery refused to do when I contacted them. I do not think that I am asking for too much as I am simply requesting Discovery to authorize the repair to ensure that I get the car repaired at the cost indicated on the assessment report (which is the basis of Discovery closing my claim). This is despite the fact that the damage was caused by a Discovery approved inspector (Tiger Wheel & Tyre) while I was getting the car inspected and Discovery has done nothing about it. If Discovery is unable to authorize the repair so that I can get my car repaired at my cost, it leaves me no option but cancel the policies for all my three vehicles insured with Discovery and move to a better service provider.
I was assisted by Unathi Majiya who explained everything clearly and went the extra mile in calling me back and providing all the necessary information I needed before taking up the insurance policy with Discovery.
I have a contract with OnAir for a Dstv explorer. Every single month they have collected their money from my account through debit order (on my payday and I have never missed my salary). I have had several calls from OnAir claiming that my account is in arrears which I refused and they have asked me to send them proof of payment through WhatsApp (0625485630 and 0611174903) and I have sent them the transaction history from my bank statements. This has gone on for quite a while to a point where I started ignoring them. Now I have checked my ClearScore account and realised that my credit score has been greatly affected by them claiming that my account is in arrears. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE STAYS AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS AND I AM GOING TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM. I have my bank statements to prove that I have never missed any payment.
For anyone looking for tyres online, PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from this big scammer called Thomas Rundle who owns tyres.co.za. He is very responsive and convincing when you inquire about tyres and will even respond to your WhatsApp messages very late at night. Once you make the payment, he will not deliver the tyres and will not respond to your messages anymore. He will come up with a million stories while you are waiting. I bought tyres from him over a month ago and they have not been delivered. The fitment was supposed to be done at Tyremart in Hillcrest. After nearly two weeks of back and forth about the delivery and fitment, he promised the fitment would take place on Wednesday 27th May. I went to the fitment centre and asked the manager there about the tyres and he said he knew nothing about them. They also told me that even if he was to deliver the tyres they were not going to fit them as he owes them a lot of money and they do not want to deal with him anymore. I called Thomas Rundle and he did not pick up. He sent me a text saying he would call me back. I waited almost an hour and he finally called back and promised that the tyres would be delivered the following day. I waited and heard nothing from him. I then sent him a message asking about the promised delivery and he ignored it. I then tried calling him and he HUNG UP ON ME! I then sent him a message asking for a refund. He then sent me a message apologising and said that he would fully refund me and deliver the tyres. I told him that he should refund me and I would pay him in full before fitment if the tyres were delivered which he agreed to. he promised that he was going to refund me first thing the following morning (Friday 29th May) and it would be an express clearance. By afternoon i hadn't received the money and I sent him a message and like before he ignored it. I waited the weekend and on Monday mid-morning I tried calling him and he ignored my call. This guy (Thomas Rundle) come to Hellopeter and writes very good reviews for himself to mislead potential customers and he is very responsive until you pay him. To everyone looking for tyres online, PLEASE SAVE YOURSELVES THE STRESS AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMER!!!!!!

I am a Discovery Health member (been for quite a while) and last week I had a serious car accident (my car was actually a write-off) and the paramedics rushed me to St. AUgustine's Hospital in Durban. At the hospital they did some examinations and X-Rays to check if there were any serious injuries and fortunately there weren't any and I was discharged and given a couple of days off work. To my surprise, Discover Health sent an e-mail stating that they will not cover my medical bill despite the fact that this was an emergency and my plan clearly states that I am covered in emergencies. I find this disgusting and I will be terminating my membership. In addition, I am going to communicate this directly to the Minister of Health as I feel he should be aware of how this so-called Medical Aid is swindling people!

I recently relocated from Cape Town to Durban and used Stuttaford Van Lines. This was the worst experience ever. I paid for them to pack and unpack my stuff but they only arrived with my stuff at 5PM and unpacked absolutely nothing. Several things were missing such as components of my main bedroom bed. I called their customer service and was told to put everything in an email which I did. I never got a response to my email and sent a reminder. It's now almost 3 months and I'm still waiting. I've used AGS Frasers twice before and I must say that they are extremely professional and way cheaper than Stuttaford Van ****......
