I have decided to cut Standard bank out of my business life. They are a joke an *********** one at that. They only service their corporate clients at the expense of neglecting their small business clients. They are a complete waste of time and not worth the effort of financing them further. Here is my letter to Sim Tshabalala which is self explanatory. I app**** for a R25,000 increase in my current overdraft (30%). Having presented all the necessary documents they asked for they are now demanding a further set of documents including the ones I already supp****. This is simply a delaying tactic making it virtually impossible to do business with them. As I am 79 I am sure this is the unspoken reason. 52 of these years I have been making money for them having sold several of my businesses to Pepkor for substantial amounts. All proceeds having gone through Standard bank. Millions. Good morning Sim Thank you so much for your help and assistance to date. No, I'm sorry to have to report the gentlemen who assisted me at the Kokstad Branch did not have a clue. He kept asking other people passing what to do and how to do it. Then he would run off for another consultation with somebody else. After 52 years with Standard Bank I am quite disappointed. In the old days you made an appointment, went to see the bank manager, had a cup of tea and a decision was made then and there. This is because he was trained, knew the job and didn't have to run off to ask other people what to do and how to do his job. THIS FELLOW KEPT ME SITTING THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR. I GAVE HIM THE LATEST BALANCE SHEETS AS AT 2026. THE SARS ITA34 FORM, TAX PAYMENTS, CASH FLOW, LETTER OF DRAWINGS. TOTAL ASSETS (OVER R5 MILLION PROPERTY ALL BOND FREE). I ONLY JUST OPENED THIS NEW VENTURE AND THE NET PROFIT WAS R170,000. IT'S A CASH BUSINESS. He finally tells me after an hour I need to open a business account to prove drawings. I walked out. I do not have the time to waste with these ***********s. If you don't want to increase the current overdraft by R25,000 that's fine I can and will manage. But I will not be *********ed into opening more accounts incurring even more bank charges and expenses which are already very high. My ATM deposits at the moment amount to over R1,000 a month. Tried them for a month in Tweni. Quite useless. The lady that signed us up left them and joined ADT a week later. Warned us first. So we cancelled now after 4 years they want R6000 for what? Underhanded.
Dry as cardboard Could have rather eaten the box no difference. Also far too salty. Completly Unedible. Went right into the dustbin. Even the dog refused to eat it. John Taylor. This is concerning an online company called IQ INTERNATIONAAL. I ordered and paid for a simple IQ test and was charged R14 which I paid. Sadly I gave these ****** access to my credit card. Two days later they charged my account with R900.59. They refuse to give me a refund. I never ordered this or signed any agreement. They are ****** and charlatans and I warn anyone to be very careful. This practice goes on time after time and the banks are useless to help. IQ INTERNATIONAL online. Beware people. *****.
Standard bank Kokstad. I had an issue with my new cell phone the data did not transfer correctly from the old phone. Hence I could not use the Standard bank app. I was helped by Zama Mdlalose from this branch who went out of her way to assist me. She was very knowledgeable and efficient. It took her sometime to get it all right and displayed the patience of Job throughout. My sincere compliments go to her and the remaining staff who have always displayed efficiency and courtesy to me. I have been a loyal customer of this branch for 52 years. It is very refreshing in this day and age to find well trained and friendly staff in any business let alone banking institutions. Well done!

WENT FOR LUNCH AT KOKSTAD SPUR 12.30 TODAY MONDAY 8TH APRIL. Only three tables were being used. We waited half an hour no staff. Eventually I had to call out. The lady came over and I said can I order? I asked if chips were served with the meal I wanted she said she didn't know. I said well you should, why are you here? She said she was learning. Only 3 more staff were in the place talking and giggling in a corner. WHAT DISGUSTING SERVICE. WHOEVER HAS THIS FRANCHISE SHOULD HAVE IT TAKEN AWAY. YOUR ONCE GOOD NAME WILL SOON BE NO LONGER. SHOCKING! WE WALKED OUT. JOHN TAYLOR
They contacted me for business. I wasn't interested at the time. A year later I made contact with them. Sent them a copy of my present policy with Santam and asked for a quote. I spoke with marakgobent@gihsa.co.za I sent him my existing policy to compare and give me a favourable quote as I have been dealing with a local broker for 30 years. Despite several E-Mails to this fellow I never had the decency of a reply or any acknowledgement call back or nothing. Incidentally I had to call several timers initially just in order to get a call back. I then got a response from a lady called Megz Stainbank who apologised. Since then, this was mid Feb, I have heard nothing at all despite several E-Mails asking why. How can a company conduct business in such an haphazard manner?
