Over the weekend, my Standard Bank app stopped working. I visited the branch today, where I was informed that my current account card had been stopped because it is being upgraded to a Platinum account. Upon arrival at the branch, I was met at reception and asked to wait. While waiting, three people who arrived after me were assisted before I was helped. I was eventually assisted by a staff member at the cash deposit section. What concerns me most is the lack of communication. Why was nothing communicated to me beforehand? Why was my card simply stopped without notice? As a result, I now had to pay out of pocket for a replacement debit card. I travel frequently, and this situation has caused further inconvenience, as the new card cannot be used at toll gates. This entire experience could have been avoided with proper communication
