A while ago I ordered a ear/nose hair trimmer for my dad, but when I showed it to him he didn't want it because he isn't fami**** with the brand. I knew that it was a non-returnable item, but we hadn't even opened the box or touched the product. I had emailed Takealot.com to check if I could return it anyway. I didn't see their response for a while, but when I did I was liaising with them and they said that I should return it. I informed them that the item is non-returnable but that we hadn't touched it. They asked for photos of the item, so I finally opened the box and took the pics for them. I said that I couldn't log the return online, so they organised the pick up of the item. I sent it back and a while later, I saw that the refund was denied. I emailed them again and they said I should let them know when the item arrives so they can collect it again and re-look at the return. But when I did that, they suddenly said that i had waited too long to return the item. When I emailed to ask why it was suddenly an issue, I received no response. In fact, I still haven't heard from them. I was really looking forward to writing a positive review of them, but sadly, they have been a huge disappointment. Do better Takealot.com
Why do they run competitions where they don't deliver on what you've won 99% of the time? And, where you call customer care and they say they will get back to you but you never hear back from them? That's DStv and their rewards programme. Out of all the things we have "won", we have only received two - monthly treats vouchers....for which we are thankful. But what about the three times we have spun the wheel and won a free Box Office Movie? It's supposed to take 7 days to load onto your profile yet we won the first one on 29/10, the second on 30/10 and we can't remember the date of the other one, but it's been way more than seven days and not a single one has been loaded to our account! So, how do we know that when they say we have won entries into this or the other prize draw or experience that this is actually the case? After the first movie wasn't loaded, I called customer service and they said that we weren't the first to complain about not receiving their free movie, that they would speak to their superiors, log a query and get back to us. Not sure if that's actually been done because they have yet to get back to us! We are so tired of DStv not delivering on their promises!
A few Sunday's ago my sister bought me some strawberries at Food *****s Market in Access Park, Kenilworth. However, when I opened the container on the Monday, just over half of the strawberries were mouldy!! A day after they had been purchased! This is unacceptable especially as they are not cheap!
On 21 September, a friend and I were in the Checkers at The Point in Sea Point. I was in the mood for something lite and decided to get a ham and cheese pocket. I told my friend how good it tasted, so she diced to get one as well. However, when we got back to the office we were unpleasantly surprised. Mt friend but into her pocket and said this is not ham and cheese. It was chicken. So I bit into mine and guess what? Also chicken!! We are both very disappointed that this happened and especially at a Checkers store! I have been trying to log a complaint on the Checkers site, but every time i reach a certain point, an error message pops up. This has also added to the disappointment in the service we have received from Checkers!!! I have photos of the incorrect pockets and the labels, as well as the error message I keep getting.
On Saturday, 28 May I visited Burger King Canal Walk and not only did they get one of the items wrong (I ordered an extra long chilli cheese chicken sandwich, but they gave me a beef sandwich), but they also left out an item that I paid for (I paid for a medium chips which wasn't in my bag when I got home)cus! What's worse is that I wrote about this on their online survey a week ago, yet no one from the chain has bothered to contact me. Goes to show how little they care about customer service.
On Sunday 27 March I visited the Pick n Pay in Vangate Mall and I was extremely annoyed at a cashier for telling me that an item advertised in one of their catalogues was not available at their store. I had found the catalogue in our community newspaper, The Athlone News, so how could the product not be available at a store in that same community? I also checked the catalogue, which I still have, and it reads: Available at Supermarkets, Hypermarkets, PicknPay.com, and Pick n Pay asap! So, I ask again, how could the 2 x 1kg Flora for R95 not be available at the Vangate Mall store? Extremely disappointing, Pick n Pay.
On Saturday, My sister and I decided to try the new Food Inn on Main Road, Claremont. One of the servers gave us menu sheets to order from and I ordered two items - The Chicken Hakkah Noodles and the Chicken Fried Rice - both priced at R60 each. There was also an adverti*****t of one of them on a door saying that it was R60. Yet, when I got home, I realised that they had charged me R140 instead of R120. So, while the food was nice, I will not be going back, nor will I recommend a place that overcharges customers.
A few Fridays ago, my sister and I were treated to a night at a hotel at the beach. And I would like to thank the staff at Protea Hotel Cape Town Sea Point and Spur Seven for making our stay very pleasant. However, our experience was marred by a visit to Monty’s Burger Bar in Mojo Market. We had decided not to have dinner at the Spur as that’s a restaurant we often visit, and we wanted to try a new place. So, we went to Mojo Market to see what was on offer. After seeing the sample burgers at Monty’s, we decided this was the place to try. We were really excited. It didn’t take too long for them to take our order. But what followed was one of our most disappointing restaurant experiences ever. We waited for over 40 minutes for our food. While we were waiting, another customer complained that she’d ordered her food more than 30 minutes earlier. They then gave her food to her on a plate, and she had to remind them that she’d ordered a take-away. A couple of the servers also weren’t wearing their masks and I had to ask one of them to put his mask on. There was another customer who had also been waiting a while, but when they gave her food, one waiter was holding the plate, and another was placing fries on it. Every time the one wanted to give her plate to her, the other piled on more chips. More than half her plate was piled high with fries. Yet when the eventually gave my sister and me our food, he only put a small portion of fries on our plates. Not only that, but our burgers looked nothing like the samples and the onion rings were anorexic in comparison to the sample. The burger itself was insipid and not even the sauce could improve it. The staff were disorganized and selectively friendly. Yes, it was a Friday night, and they were busy, but they need to have a better system in place and there needs to be consistency in te service that they provide to ALL customers. If my sister and I had gone to the Spur, we would have had familiar food, but at least it would have tasted great, and the experience overall would have been a much better one. IF I could give Monty’s Burger Bar Minus 5 stars, I certainly would. And, sadly, negative experience has put me off visiting Mojo Market anytime soon. And I definitely will not be recommending that burger place to anyone. This is a their sample Confused Burger In front is the version of a Confused Burger that I got, and at the back is my sister’s pathetic pulled pork burger
Actually, I would give them zero stars if I could. On the 1st of November they had a promotion of any 2 County Fair or PnP chicken products for R70. I asked an employee if it included the County Fair Chicken Steak let's and he said that it did because all the items were the same price. So, I bought 1 box of PnP crumbed chicken cutlets, 1 box of County Fair Steaks and 2 boxes of County Fair Steaklets. Yet when I got home and checked my till slip, I saw that the promotional price was applied to the PnP Crumbed Cutlets and the County Fair Steaks, but not to the 2 boxes of County Fair Steaklets. I emailed Pick n Pay that same day. It's been a month now and I have still not heard back from them. It's only a saving of R29, 98 but it's the principle that counts. Don't say a promo applies and then you don't apply it. Or train your staff better. And, sadly, it's not the first time that something like this happens to me at Pick n Pay. Seriously disappointed customer
I need to contact them but I don't have enough airtime. I managed to call in and spoke to a Nomfundo. I told her that I was about to run out of airtime and asked her to call me back. I gave her my number. She said she would call me back, but that was yesterday morning. She never called me back. And this morning I have been trying to get hold of a live via their WhatsApp chat and it's been utterly useless.
